Simple ways to avoid getting the flu

in #flu7 years ago (edited)

If you don’t want to go through the horrible symptoms of the flu, like fever, coughing, headaches or nausea, there are a few measurements you could take in advance to reinforce your immune system and to avoid the contact with dangerous germs.

(yes, I have a big headache right now.)

First of all, you should ensure your daily necessary vitamins. For that, you should eat more fruits and vegetables.

You could also drink homemade smoothies, they’re delicious and super good for your health. You can also reinforce your immune system through sport.

People who do physical exercises manage to keep the flu away. Workouts help you get rid of the extra fat, and that can have a big say in how fast you get sick.

A study has revealed that overweight people are more likely to get the flu. Even 20 minutes of simple workout can be helpful.

Besides that, it is very important for you to respect hygiene rules. Doctors recommend that we wash our hands before every meal or snack and after using objects that usually contain many microbes.

For example, if you usually take the bus, don’t forget to wash your hand on the first occasion, because think about how many people have had their hands in there.

Avoid crowded places. I’m not suggesting that you should isolate yourself in order to not get sick. But extra crowded places, especially the closed ones, can be a source of infection for those who have a higher risk of catching the flu.

So you should avoid going at commercial centers or at the cinema on rush hours. You can choose to do your shopping or enjoy a movie when it’s less crowded.

The single best way to prevent seasonal flu is to get vaccinated each year, but good health habits like covering your cough and washing your hands often can help stop the spread of germs and prevent respiratory illnesses like the flu. There also are flu antiviral drugs that can be used to treat and prevent flu.

  1. Avoid close contact.
Avoid close contact with people who are sick. When you are sick, keep your distance from others to protect them from getting sick too.

  2. Stay home when you are sick.
If possible, stay home from work, school, and errands when you are sick. This will help prevent spreading your illness to others.

  3. Cover your mouth and nose.
Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing. It may prevent those around you from getting sick.

  4. Clean your hands.
Washing your hands often will help protect you from germs. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand rub.

  5. Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth.
Germs are often spread when a person touches something that is contaminated with germs and then touches his or her eyes, nose, or mouth.

  6. Practice other good health habits.
Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces at home, work or school, especially when someone is ill. Get plenty of sleep, be physically active, manage your stress, drink plenty of fluids, and eat nutritious food.

I don't like the idea of being vaccinated.

Useful tips to keep the flu at bay!

yeah avoiding it is 100 times better than getting vaccinated once it comes . Lol!! there is a saying that " If you get flu , you would be cured in 7 days normally , if you consult doctor then it would get cure in a week " . Flu is caused by virus and It could only be killed by our immune system.

@jwolf
