Benefits of Jasmine White Flowers for Health

Jasmine (Jasminum sambac, Ait.) Is a flower that is famous for its fragrant smell. In Indonesia, jasmine tree is often found in the yard of the house or as a barrier fence. Jasmine flowers have many benefits and have been used for various purposes since time immemorial. The scented smell makes jasmine as a compulsory flower for certain celebrations and rituals. From the smell of custom, religious, to mystical.
But only a few who know the benefits of jasmine flowers for health and traditional medicine. In fact, our ancestors have been using the efficacy of these jasmine flowers for traditional medicine. Among them stop excessive breastfeeding, eye sore, headache, fever and shortness of breath.

Benefits of jasmine as a drug can not be separated from the content of compounds in it. Chemical content that exists include indol, benzyl, and livalylacetaat. The parts used for treatment are the leaves, roots and flowers.

Here's how traditional medicine uses jasmine flowers:

(1). Shortness of Breath
Boil 20 sheets of jasmine and salt to taste with 3 cups of water until the remaining 2 cups. After cool, water boiled jasmine leaves are filtered. Drinking water twice a day every morning and afternoon.

(2). Fever and Headache
If you or your family have a fever, do not panic. Take a handful of jasmine leaves and 10 jasmine flowers, then knead by hand. After withering and somewhat crushed, soak in water. This water bath is used to compress the forehead. This method can also be done to treat mild headaches.

(3). Stung by Bees or Other Insects
If you are suddenly stung by a bee, take one handful of jasmine flowers, then knead until smooth. Stick the kneaded jasmine flowers to parts of the body that are bitten by an insect or stung by a bee.

(4). Eye Pain
Have you ever had eye pain, like red eyes because of irritation or tears? Actually the condition can be overcome with jasmine leaves. Way, take a handful of jasmine leaves, then finely dipipis. Paste on the forehead over the eyes, if dry with a new potion.

(5). Stop Breast Milking
Sometimes, there are breastfeeding mothers whose milk is coming out too much. Even when the baby is not breastfeeding any milk remains out. This is certainly quite troublesome, but can be overcome with a jasmine potion. The trick, a handful of jasmine leaves finely dipipis, then affixed to the surrounding breast. Do it every morning before bathing.

Jasmine flowers have many names and designations. The Sunda people call it malati, the Java people call it run. In Madura, people call jasmine with malate and the Balinese call it menuh. While outsiders, like in England, brands call it Jasmine, Arabs call it Yasmin.
