Over four months has passed since Hurricane Irma came through Florida. Thousands of homes were destroyed, boats sunk, and canals filled with debris. Still today the Florida Keys are suffering from an overwhelming amount of trash and debris. Piles along the roadside, debris in the canals and rivers, abandoned homes, boats, trailers and cars. Last Saturday a group of approximately 150 volunteers pulled truckloads of trash and abandoned items from the formerly prestine canals of Big Pine Key. We were glad to be able to be a part of this effort.
