Steem Flaw? - 240

Selfv... made a post
Another victim left Steem by the people's-court-bamboo-spearing Red Guard or the content-Nazi or Facist.

The post it referenced was TheMarkyMar*: Lies He Tells

I saw that garudi had over 2,000 Steem Power so I decided to investigate why her account was annhialated/destroyed.

I discovered that mack-*** had a big delegation from misterdelegatio*.
http://www.steemreports.com/delegation-info/?account=mack-bot

I looked up misterd... and found that they had a massive gift of 5 million Steem Power from Steemit
https://steemd.com/@misterdelegation?page=29

It's cool that there is a high priority towards eliminating spam and nefarious accounts but I think some legitimate ones are also being destroyed.

I bet Twitter has at least a million if not 10 million or more fake accounts and Facebook probably has at least 100 million fake accounts.

Half the stuff on my Facebook feed seems like it is reshares sometimes but I think you can have your account destroyed if you do that here on Steemit.

Heay did you see the lastest Dustsweeper update?:

"So currently a $0.03 @dustsweeper vote, will cost you around $0.045."

Wow, I don't know if it's still a good idea to use the service?

That seems strange. You might want to send them .10 SBD or Steem and keep track of it. I dunno why they wouldn't be able to return a profit.

They are over worked as well and are only able to get 2 votes a day in per user. Unless I am mistaken even with the increase the price is still worth it because we double our SBD value when we send to them. $1 sbd = $2 upvote value so even if we lose 15 % of that we still end up with a trade of 1 SBD for $1.70 - what ever curation rewards others get from the upvotes placed on our comments.

You've always had your @dustsweeper balance up? It looks like you are missing some votes.

I am missing tons of votes. I asked about it awhile back and was told they can only get 2 upvotes a day on average per user.

It looked like frank was getting most of his but he does make far less comments than you.

I am going to have to check into it further tomorrow . I get allot of dust upvotes.

How are they able to do that, give more than we send them?

The same way the bots do. @dustsweeper was getting delegations at very good rates.

They always have. .. I am not sure what calculations they used when setting up the program but upvote value has always been x 2 of what you send them.

But they claimed you would not actually make a profit out of it. You only recoup the dust you would otherwise have lost.

@dustsweeper appeared to normally be very profitable.

The fluctuation in price likely changed that outcome. All I know is the math says its Positive ROI unless there is something I am forgetting to factor in.

Why don't they just let people do whatever they want. I never understood the downvoters on Steemit. Like those bots that go after people that self vote. So stupid.

It seems very strange to me that Steemit would delegate to a bot that helps shut down Steemit accounts.

Because people abuse the system. I looked at some of her stuff and she like post a picture of a cat and makes five bucks using bots. If it was really that simple we'd all be doing that so that's why they come down hard on people who do it. I mean really....think about it, I have a dog and two cats, if I ran around the house all day taking various shots and posting one here then get a bot to up vote it I mean I'd be telling all my friends how easy it was to make five bucks, I'd have people climbing out the woodwork asking me to show them how easy it was. I don't know how many times a day/week she was doing it or how much each one was worth overall. Somehow you seem to have stayed under their radar, maybe you should give her some hints.

She did sponsor a contest though.

Bots are not that easy to use. I can understand maybe a little flagging but usually people with that much Steem power are investors.
I try and be very careful but it would be nice if there was less censorship on Steemit. I think I'm a pretty good Steemian and I might even average over 10,000 posts/comments a year but at any given day I could have my account completely shut down for good. :(

I know that. That's why I started following you. I get the biggest kick out of how you "slither" (cause that's what they'd (big boys)would call it in reality) around unnoticed....I mean just look at how you wrote this article, you gave people enough info just to know who you were talking about without calling them down upon yourself. I've seen you skate back over here real fast after bringing attention to yourself from upon one of them, then write something about your escape. It's all in character, it's not like you stayed where ever, got in deeper, called them names then came back to write something totally nasty with @ whoever attached. You wade out just enough to get your toes wet then come back in to dry them off. It's hilarious to watch.

#skills lol
It's almost like I'm always being hunted on here. Every single day I could lose my account. lol
I think I've made more calculations on here than a rocket scientist does at his job and mine are not cut and dry like a rocket scientist.

The cloud thing is a exception not a rule to the stuff I do myself. I don't upvote or have bots upvote it or do it several times a week. The reason I don't is because I see accounts like your friends getting the crap kicked out of them eventually. Nothing wrong with a occasional short post in my opinion, it would be great if we could just do that and make money. I'd be rich my now for the short time I've been on here. I don't make the rules though. I don't enforce them either. With that said can I ask you do you consider it fair that if someone who isn't afraid like me to be breaking the rules can freely break them without consequence and make money faster? I have all sorts of stuff I can write about but I am not doing so right now until I get enough power to make it worth my effort. In other words I am not giving out my best stuff for near to nothing or nothing at all but on the other hand I am not going to get myself thrown off the platform so I can try and get there faster. I am just stating a honest opinion of what I have seen others go through trying to skim to the top, I am not God or anybody else of noble stature, just someone who would expect the same happening to me as her if I tried what she tried on a on going basis, that's why I don't do it.

I am not the one making the rules, nor do I enforce them, even if I had enough power to enforce rules I wouldn't consider it my job to be doing so, no one pays me to take a chance getting in flag wars. With that said it doesn't or shouldn't stop me from giving a opinion, just like you did. That's all I did was state a opinion, that doesn't hurt anybodies account.

I am against downvoting in general. Most use it incorrectly imo.

I agree, if there's nothing worse than flagging it's being flagged for incorrect reasons.

I'm not sure if your interested in @steemmonsters or not. I know we talked about it a time or two so I figure I come over and let you know they started a kick starter which likely ends quickly. It looks like its advertising the best deals on getting some cards for the game or resale.

Here is the link .. I purchased the $50 pack and it comes with a Steemit account and exclusive cards not being sold outside of the kickstarter so they will likely hold high value if the game continues to be popular.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/526764488/steem-monsters-a-digital-role-playing-trading-card?ref=nav_search&result=project&term=steem%20

Maybe you should do a blog post? Is this the only way to buy Steem Monsters with credit card? I'm not sure how I would trade them for Steem?

The official Steemmonsters site has a market built in. You click your card and there is a sell button at the bottom that you also click. I never sold any yet so I am not sure of the full process but there are thousands of cards for sale and transactions being done daily. One card sold for $3000 just a few days ago. Off course there is risk with every investment and you might end up at a loss but if by some chance you hit one of the higher ranking cards you could be in a few hundred. I guess it depends on if you like gambling or not. I purchased only one booster pack for 2 bucks and hit a card worth over $1000 USD and then there are others that bought hundreds of packs and haven't hit anything as valuable as the one I got.

Here is the steem monsters official site. You can look around without a log in. https://steemmonsters.com/

Edit : you can buy steemmonsters with crypto also. ..... Steem / SBD and others. I am not sure if the kick starter takes crypto or not. I never noticed the option but I wasn't looking for the option either.

The $50 option is all sold out already .. there is a $25 option still in action. It looks like the $25 option has unlimited spots unlike the other options. The next lowest bundle is $200.

I am sure the update of the platform is going to clarify this situation.

Hopefully things improve with the update but I am skeptical.

I know I'm sorry but I'm trying to live to fight another day. Your account is at like 10 times harder to destroy than mine.
I think the price of Steem could go down to like 10 cents thanks to the misguided leadership we have and poor culture. Someday I think it could go to $1,000 though if things change.
Thanks for taking the brutal hits which might help provide cover for me.

I suppose I could transfer my Steem to a different account if I get destroyed but I like having this account.
I'm hoping when the price tanks Steemit will be forced to sell their Steem and it will go to better accounts. I think they are selling some Steem now but I will know more i a few weeks.

If you post a picture without crediting it you can get fla**ed.
If they don't like how you use bots you can get destroyed.
If they don't like how you self upvote you can get attacked.
etc etc etc

I agree that you may be right but than again I think you may be wrong. I have seen so many accounts destroyed on Steemit it is ridiculous. I have seen some people screw up on their first post and their account is finished after just one post.

I think the fla**ing may actually be even worse than you realize.

Have you ever looked at some of the 100's if not 1000's of accounts that are under attack?

I think we have some incompetent leadership that doesn't know what they are doing. I think they were overly vigilant trying to protect the Steem blockchain and in the process helped hurt it more than they were helping.

If I get attacked enough to where my Steemit career is finished than I will consider my Steemit career mostly finished and not even bother to try and get fancy and switch to a new account. Just talking about this which does seem like a real possibility to me almost makes it seem stupid for me to even be on here. :(

I'm basically expecting a crash and maybe I will decide to by like 10,000 Steem for $1,000 and then maybe I will have enough clout to make a difference or will just blow $1,000. I might not even be willing to buy Steem at 10 cents though but I dunno what will happen.

Whoops yeah I left out a 0. lol

I'm a lot weaker than you so I'm worried about having my account completely destroyed. Mack or chang alone could very easily destroy me plus I don't own even own much Steem Power which makes me extremely weak.
Have you considered getting some delegations? I'm not sure if it would help or not. I think it's unfortunate this site is mainly all robots.
Hopefully someday Steem will function well. Hopefully. lol
It's a bummer that comment got attacked enough to make it invisible. :(

Hopefully someday I can help improve things. Hopefully in a year I can be at 10,000 Steem voting power and maybe in 2 years 100,000 voting power but it will be very hard to do. Delegations are not easy and take a long time to build up.

I try and lay low and provide a positive example. I would like to take some power away from the bots but it is a slow and long process. I think Steem would be better if it was more humans and less bots.

I think there should probably be some awareness of how Steemit is hurting itself and the value of the blockchain. We need more active users and not less.
