You're right. I wrote my highest every payout post a week ago, which was top 4 on the trending list (woohoo btw lol), and it was about this very subject. How people are becoming unable to talk to others who don't agree with them because of of social media's predictive algorithms. We are getting to comfortable n our little tunnels of reality and we need to break out of them fast before we don't have enough wiggle room to attempt an escape.

I thought you handled it pretty well tbh , and I really have the same problem and struggle to just let cuntish behaviour go unchallenged :P
Seems I've pissed off a spammer today cos of that, but it worked out and I just got a trending post out of my annoyance lol
I don't think I did handle it well at all. With the guy who got upvoted with a voting trail, my second response was rather the rude. And to the nihilistic one accusing me of being a coward, I didn't even leave an invitation for another a response. There's only so much you can do. I go into a the conversation with the right state of mind, being able to retain it is difficult if they didn't also enter it with that same sentiment.
Aha congrats on the trending post, its an important topic and I think/hope a lot of steemians get how important that is.
I'm amazed daily by how drastic the gaps in perception between different groups have gotten - feels like we're in different worlds sometimes.
I'm guilty of blocking people I don't agree with, mostly because I just don't want to argue and say something I can't take back (damn blockchains) , but I'm trying to stop that because you're right - its not healthy and wont end well.
I'm guilty of it too to a degree. I made this post in an effort to improve communication between people, and I have just had to be incredibly rude to two people in the comments.
I try to be respectful, I really do. But, if someone is being a cunt, I have never possessed much of an ability to prevent myself from pointing out that they're being a cunt. I don't know if that makes me a cunt too, but it's difficult to ignore such ignorance.
