No, they actually don't say that. They say the rotation of the earth stays pointed the same direction but that this causes it to show different parts of its surface to the sun during the course of a year (one orbit). Surely you have seen the demonstration, the north pole stays pointed at the north star, which is 23 degrees off angle to the orbit of the Earth from the sun. The Earth doesn't tilt back and forth. You just learned that wrong. 
BTW, the scientists who first proposed the spherical Earth didn't disprove a theory. They disproved an assumption. They used facts, (see the well experiment and the ship observation) to disprove what people assumed before science figured out the truth. A truth, BTW, that lets you discuss things on the internet.
Since you are wrong on both of these facts, you should take that as a hint and learn what the scientists (and everyone with a science education) actually says, before you try to refute it. You simply misunderstand the observable facts. Read my reply above and tell me what size Australia is.

I have made some of these observations myself, but true, no one lives long enough to reproduce the entire history of science. So we do what makes sense, we listen carefully to what others say, see that independent people can reproduce the same results, and deduce by rational mechanisms that they must be right. Then we test that deduction by applying it to new experiments.
I don't have to do the experiment with a lead ball and a iron ball, because I used the formula deduced from that to properly aim weaponry. The results confirm the premise.
Similarly when I track (with my own hand built directional radio) the signals from a satellite and see it rise over one horizon (with my telescope), set over another, then (without appearing in the sky between) rise on the same first horizon again, I am confirming the premise that it orbits the Earth. When I contact my friends in Japan who also track that object, I confirm that it stays above the Earth and is not magically replaced with another similar satellite.
These are facts because they can be confirmed by anyone who takes the time to do so.
No...you're absolutely wrong...they are facts because those in elitist positions, who claim to be authority figures, repeat them verbatim enough times that people begin to believe them...this has been proven time and time again with control groups that are exposed to a specific set of circumstances and criteria...they are then subjected to mental manipulation by being told the same false story enough times that it ends up becoming the "new" truth...if you are using the techniques, described by others, to "prove" their theories, then you're nothing more than a follower, incapable of thinking for yourself, and quite content to consume misinformation with a vigorous appetite...but don't feel bad, there are far more of your kind than there are of the intelligent, free thinking lot, so you folks should remain happy with the knowledge that you've NEVER taken the time to question anything before accepting it at face value...it isn't very difficult to replicate results if you use the same methods the theorist sets as an example...in fact, you'd be pretty damn dumb if you couldn't...so in a nutshell, you folks are excellent at following directions, but shit at original thought and questioning the propaganda you continue to preach.
Because you can do something (manipulation) doesn't mean everybody else did do that thing, consistently, across hundreds of years, thousands of miles, and millions of people. But sure, it's a conspiracy.
I have done the science myself, you have not, or you wouldn't be speaking so foolishly. One doesn't try to replicate results in science, one tries to disprove results. Your ability to type your anger out at others (whom you do not know) across the world was created in that process. You simply don't know that you do not know.
