5 Facts About Me - Yet another Steemit challenge! :)

in #fivefacts7 years ago (edited)

Archimedes.png

For some reason these Steemit challenges keep coming my way.

This is the second time I have been challenged; so, I can already see some sort of pattern in my reaction. First, SHOCK!; second, the conviction of politely turning the request down. But, in this case, how can one say no to @ruth-girl?! (in the same way I would never say no to my dear @karecarrens) One simply can’t! Even more so when you are like me...

You see, I find difficult saying no to people (one fact about me right there!). But, hang on a second! This doesn’t mean I never say no. I better make this clear here before things go crazy. Anyway, my dear @ruth-girl, even if saying no was an easy thing for me; I wouldn’t say no to you anyway!

So, off we go, with a couple of facts about my past and three about my present. Brace yourselves.

I had a wooden clothes’ peg as a pet when I was 8-9 years old.

Oh yeah! His name was Archimedes and he was my best friend in the world for over a year. It all started like this: I saw a broken wooden clothes’ peg in our garden (the part that had the metal piece) and placed it on my index finger - you know, as when one has a little bird sitting on the index finger. But still .... there was something missing. So, later that day I drew a little smile on it and voalá, meet Archimedes. I took him everywhere with me! I introduced him to my friends, family and all my other toys. We were inseparable until the day he died, which was a very sad one indeed. Archimedes died of a lethal fall. He had fallen many times before, but on that day the wooden piece came apart from the metal one. I was in shock! After the funeral, I buried him in the garden, my brother helped me through that and also to move on. May Archimedes rest in peace.

I lived through an 8.8 magnitude earthquake.

If that reading sounds alien to you I will tell you what it is A LOT. It is the kind of earthquake that brings houses down, kills hundreds of people, and generate a Tsunami. It was in February 2010. My husband and I were in our little wooden cabin up in the mountain in Chile. At around 4 o’clock in the morning the cabin started shaking as usual. This is something that happens quite often in Chile and you can feel it especially if you are in a wooden cabin or on the 15th floor of an apartment block. I was awaken by it, but unlike all the other times that time the shaking did not fade away. Quite the opposite it went mental! When the books started falling off the shelves I decided we should leave the cabin. My husband was in a deep, deep sleep (bless him). I shook him really hard, shouting. When he woke up, he looked out the window and sleepily asked ‘why are the trees moving?’ ‘Oh, for the love of Christ!’ I said. Then I run out the door while screaming “die alooonee”.

I am a serial planner.

I allocate time for everything. Not only do I already have my entire next week planned in my diary, but I also have the week after that all figured out! I allocate time for everything and follow my schedule quite strictly. For example, ever since I joined Steemit I take a couple of hours in the evening from Mon. to Thu to chat in the steemSTEM.chat, browse my favourite tags and prepare my weekly article, which since Christmas I have been posting on Fridays. The great advantage of having such a habit is that I do manage to meet my deadlines and comply with my commitments without stress or dramas. However, as it is sometimes the case: the unexpected happens. Oh boy! Do I have a problem with last minute things and unexpected events? Yep. I can find myself rather overwhelmed by something that literary is not the end of the world, but just because it was not in my diary booked for 14:30 it can really distress me.

Why am I posting today? Some last minute thing just came up for tomorrow! Ahhhhhhhhhhhh. 😨

I sleep talk & sleep walk.

Sleeping for me is not an easy deed. Some of you already know I am an insomniac. On top of that, when, as if by a miracle, I manage to fall asleep, the tossing and turning begins as well as the talking and occasionally the walking. I was not an insomniac as a kid, but the sleep walking stories go waaaayyy back to the time when I was a child. It must be something that runs in my family (the talking) because I remember this occasion when I was in a hotel room with my mother, it was past midnight and she had been sleeping for a while (I was reading), when she suddenly began to laugh hysterically with her eyes wide open. My brother also has his share of stories. As for me, well, let’s just say that my husband and I learnt we must keep the front door locked at night and hide the key in a place where I cannot easily reach.

I cook some delicious meals & desserts.

There are a few months during the year when life is not so busy for me and I find myself with some extra time. So, by now, you already know how this goes, right? YES. I book in lots of things to do that includes reading books, extra yoga sessions and .... cooking! I truly love cooking! So, this is normally how this goes for me when it comes to trying a new recipe: I eat something scrumptious in a restaurant and then try to emulate it at home. The fun already starts when I begin to browse the net for the recipe. I also enjoy buying the ingredients and whatever utensil I need to make the magic happen. When the day comes, I turn my music on and enjoy every minute of the process. Here are the photos of some of the recipes that turned out successful!

Chicken Tikka Masala
Tiramisu
Panna Cotta
Chocolate Fondant

Who am I challenging?
Dear @karecarrens I would love to see a post with 5 facts about you 😊

Dear reader, in case you have made this far I am truly appreciative! But now, I cannot help but ask you: do we have anything in common? We must do! So, please let me know if, like me, you find difficult dealing with the unexpected, if there is a recipe you’ve nailed and impressed all your family members and friends with; or if you have been through a really scary experience. Well, you get it!

@abigail-dantes, I happily pick up the gauntlet you have thrown down and will prepare my post! And, this is coming from someone who is never afraid to say NO. 🤣

What you shared was awesome! I thought to myself how it seems our husbands were given the gift of sound sleep 😴 while we were given the gift of being able to watch them sleep 😩.

💕💕💕

AWESOME!! 😃

Seeing your post this morning came as a nice surprise, since I didn't expect to see it until later today. Hooray for the unexpected 🤩

To come to your question first, it doesn't look like we have much in common, but its the difference, that makes it all the more interesting in my opinion. I like the story of Archimedes. Also, because the ancient genius is one of my favorite figures in history. Interesting, how a 8-9 year old girl would come up with such a name! When I was little, I already liked technical stuff and created all kinds of weird vehicles with my Lego and other construction kits.. and had imaginary friends steer them around. Its nice, to read about such strong imagination and how you got into it to the very end.

The only earthquakes I have ever experienced were a few unexciting moves of the ground in California. Coming from "solid ground" in southern Germany, it was rather unusual for me and the thought of it maybe getting stronger was quite scary.

Hahaha... really had to laugh about the way, you "abandoned" your husband... I take it, it all went well in the end. Just saw a really interesting documentary about Beijing's forbidden City and how they built these massive buildings in a way so they could withstand even the strongest earth quakes.

I gave up detailed planing a long time ago. Something unexpected always comes along and that really throws me off track then. When go to bed, and thank god, I have a sound sleep, in the few minutes before I "pass out" I make a rough plan for the next day... usually like: "tomorrow I want to paint all day".. of course, first thing in the morning is my wife, needing a door handle fixed down in her café and this develops into some major project til noon..

When you are not affected by it, a person walking and talking in their sleep always appears a little funny. I am aware, that it might not be after all, but right away, I have these movie scenes in front of my inner eye, when someone does things in their sleep and then doesn't remember any of it the next day. When I was young, I had a girlfriend who talked in her sleep. Was strange at first, because thinking she was awake, I'd respond to what she was saying... but then she continued talking about something completely different and the conversation was kind of.. absurd. With time I got it though.

I used to always cook lunch. The meal in the middle of the day is traditionally the main one in Germany. The thing I always hated about it was the grocery shopping... Things changed here too and so dinner is the bigger one most of the days. Your creations look so delicious and although I usually have no appetite in the morning (which it is here now) I'm starting to get hungry just by looking at your photos... which brings me back to your question, if we have something in common...

Finally, I found something: You too are an artist 🤩

Hooray for the unexpected 🤩

Ha! I see what you're doing here ... very smart indeed :)

Not everyone can handle differences. It is a beautiful thing indeed, to develop an interaction and why not to say a friendship with people unlike us. They can offer so much. Like you have been offering me @reinhard-schmid through your beautiful comments and invaluable interaction. For some reason I am not surprised at all to hear about the ingenious and imaginative side of your childhood. A trait that has never left you :)

first thing in the morning is my wife, needing a door handle fixed down in her café and this develops into some major project til noon..

This would be enough to seriously upset me and ruin my entire day! She is very lucky to have you as a husband. I know that because my husband is just like you. Yet, I still haven't learnt from him. I suppose we give each other balance in this regard :)

Well, you can see how this doesn't really affect my husband. Specially after you learnt he sleeps through an 8.8. magnitude earthquake. what is my talking and tossing and turning compare to that? Nothing! 😂

Lunch has always been our main meals and I do prefer have my bigger meals earlier in the day anyway. I have found that eating big portions at night is yet something else that prevents me from sleeping well :/
I am SO pleased to hear you liked my photos and feel incredibly flatted to think I am an artist too! This is truly nice of you :)

Lots of love to you my dearest!
All the best always.

I didn't leave a comment yesterday when I first read because I couldn't point to a single thing and say "Yay, I got this in common with you!". However, I find your experiences and habits inspirational. I wish I could get organized and act on plans like you, rather than doing things as they happen in random order. I will think more about this, and maybe start planning everything myself too. I hope not to go through an earthquake or any other natural disasters, nor I would want to sleepwalk or talk. But I sure want to up my game in cooking. I do enjoy cooking, but don't have enough confidence to share yet. Maybe one day I will :)

I really like your writing style. Thank you for sharing 5 things about yourself. You are brave!

Dearest @geekgirl, please let me tell you how grateful I feel when I see a comment from you on one of my posts ❤️

However, I find your experiences and habits inspirational.

This is a truly wonderful thing to hear and it makes posting this article all the more worth it.

I wish I could get organized and act on plans like you, rather than doing things as they happen in random order.

Meanwhile ... I really respect people who can keep their cool and get on with whatever life brings them!

It will be great to see some of your 'cooking project'. Whenever you're ready, you already know there is at least one someone here (me) looking forward to seeing it.

I really like your writing style

I could never thank you enough for your consistent, invaluable support and encouragement!❤️

Thank you for sharing 5 things about yourself. You are brave!

Yep! The things I have been doing here lately. I think Steemit put a spell on me :)

One thing your pet Archimedes should have been proud of was that he was unique!

An 8.8 earhquake can be really scary. You're very lucky becuase most people would not be able to write about such a powerful earthquake. By the way, sleep walking can also be a bit scary, especially if you are on a mountain or some place where there is danger or risk lurking nearby.

Writing down to dos in a diary does wonders. I know because I used to for many years, and have to get back to it soon. I had thought of taking a break from my diary but the break never ended, lol.

So many facts about yourself - that is one good post!

He was unique indeed @maxabit! Thank you for pointing that out about him 😂

sleep walking can also be a bit scary, especially if you are on a mountain or some place where there is danger or risk lurking nearby.

Well, let's say that you almost described one of my sleep walking events! That is why nowadays my husband hides the front door key when we go to bed at night.

Writing down to dos in a diary does wonders.

I don't know how to get on with my daily obligations through any other way. It does work for me.

I am glad you liked this post @maxabit! You are truly sweet and you never fail to leave your encouraging words here on my posts. All the best to you always :)

Wonderful sharing, Abigail! I like to be organized like you, but I always end up working in chaos. I prepare my planners and everything, and look at me, it's 13th and I'm only now writing my New year resolutions. :D Good thing is I'm always ready for unexpected to happen. :)

Your recipes look delicious! I like cooking myself, but nowhere near your level. :) I'm sure we have many things in common though that we just haven't figured out yet!

@alcibiades!!!! ❤️😍❤️
Well, our passion for music is the first thing that I can think of that we have in common. Also, I did suspect you enjoyed cooking! I am so pleased you liked the photos of my meal and desserts! They are all pretty straight forward to make :)

So, let’s do the following... you teach me how to be more sponteanous and cope with the unexpected and I will give you a few tips on how to start following up your plans. It looks like you are already half way there, considering you prepare your planners!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my post and leave a lovely comment my dear Alcibiades 😘

Hello my friend. I loved this revealing post about yourself. Your friend the clothespin and the sad burial at the end. It’s kind of a sad story about your best friend.
The mountains of Chile! What an incredible place to be during an earthquake. Is your husband still there where you left him?

All kidding aside. I had a feeling you are an organized planner. Actually you are pretty much all of the things I am not. That being said...... It is not unusual to enjoy people that are more or less opposites. Usually there is a common ground where the fun and sharing take place. You have a gift of love and sharing that makes me want to be a better person. Love you for that my friend.🐓🐓

Ahahahaha .... nope, thank goodness he is here with me! 😂 After I left the cabin he came after me. We just sat there on a stone, watching the bright sky. That was a beautiful, scary, surreal night that we will never forget!

I love the fact that we are different @mother2chicks ❤️ You live in a very special place in my heart! 😊 Have a wonderful weekend!

I feel like I know you much better now! I sometimes talk in my sleep, too, but only if I'm really stressed. The first time I flew in an airplane (not the first time, but the first in several years) I was talking about the flight that night in my sleep! But it sounds like sleep talking for you is just pretty normal. I've only walked in my sleep once (that I know of). But that sounds pretty scary and I'm glad you keep your door locked! But have you ever unlocked the door in your sleep?

Oh nooo ... so many people are scared of flying! My brother was when he was younger, but he overcame his fear. Yes, I have walked twice out of the house. Well, once out of that very cabin in the mountain and another time I walked out of our apartment. I also, every now and then, wake myself up in the living or at my desk ... las time was a couple of months ago. I am pretty used to it nowadays.
All the best to you @geke 😘

I laughed with Archimedes. How innocent and frugal can children be sometimes.
It's nice to meet a serial planner with sleeping disorders (I have a sister that sleeptalks, it's scary!). Are you sure Archimedes died and you didn't kill him in your sleep? :P

Thank you for doing this for me @abigail-dantes! I really enjoyed learning new things about you!
Lots of love! ❤️❤️❤️

A homage to Archimedes @ruth-girl! How sweet of you ❤️

Yep, this is me right here :)

It's nice to meet a serial planner with sleeping disorders

As for Archimedes, my brother also witnessed the fall! That was a difficult afternoon, it brings tears to my eyes just to think about it :P

hahahaha..

You constantly seem to amaze me, when I think I have some of you figured out there you go ahead just adding to an everlasting journey of adventure into the life of @abigail-dantes.

At 8-9 years I as well had some aaah do I say "unique pets" but what really shocked me was not that your pet was a peg but that you named it "Archimedes" - at 8-9years I couldn't even spell "Archimedes". (no jokes) let alone know who he was.

From:

My husband was in a deep, deep sleep (bless him).

to

“die alooonee”.

My poor dear brother, please tell him I know what he is going through, and he has moral support my girlfriend would have the same.(lol)

I have a cousin that had a similar issue with sleepwalking and I remember when he was 10 years old, he started to sleepwalk while his parents where watch television in the lounge, so my cousin sleepwalked into the lounge and drop his pants and peed on the television and in his sleep went back to bed. The next morning when my cousin tried to put the television on and realised it doesn't work, his parents kindly explained to him why:) I hope you haven't had any similar incidents or maybe if you had you can share them:)

And finally master chef!
I am addicted to roast chicken and I love to make it, I have like about 10 different combinations of spices that I use, I totally learnt how to cook by watching Food Network and really enjoy it as well:)
Gosh your presentation of the food in restaurant quality, you take pride in everything you do!!!!
Thank you for sharing a little more of the gracious, sweet, brilliant Abigail-dantes.

@zest! You are a man of your word! Thank you for taking the time to leave this most amazing, funny reply.

My poor dear brother, please tell him I know what he is going through, and he has moral support my girlfriend would have the same.(lol)
My husband felt really comforted indeed in knowing he is not on his own in this cruel world, where people like me show their true colors in such events! :P
I hope you haven't had any similar incidents or maybe if you had you can share them:)

I would; but you see Zest, I run out of facts. The limit is 5! :P Crazy story, I laughed SO hard. Tell your cousin I send him all my love and compassion :)

Lots of love to you ❤️

Somehow I missed this from my feed :D...

" ‘Oh, for the love of Christ!’ I said. Then I run out the door while screaming “die alooonee”."

I pictured that in my head and it's hilarious. The only thing missing is a gigantic spider attacking you as you came out of the cabin!

My sincere apologies for archimedes. May he rest in pieces

May he rest in pieces

Oh my God! 😂😂

Well, ok ... that did not happen that night. But, plenty PLENTY of gigantic spiders attacked me in that cabin, this one time I was cornered by one. She ( yes, something tells me it was a she ) cornered me and tried to destroy me! Why do you think we sold that cabin!?

hahaha loved it!
Archimedes: too cute and funny! :D
Earthquake: glad you made it through !
Planner: You have that written all over you ;)
Sleep walk/talk: LOL i actually have friends who sleep "eat"...for real!
Food: Fondaaaant one of my favvssss ! :D
Oh and I was challenged by Mr @trumpman, still need to allocate the time for this !

Oh and I was challenged by Mr @trumpman, still need to allocate the time for this!

EXCELLENT! 🤩❤️ I am SO looking forward to that post. Let me guess "Fact No. 1 - 50% of my thoughts are occupied by all things chocolate! :P. I thought of you when I uploaded the chocolat fondant photo :)

Sleep walk/talk: LOL i actually have friends who sleep "eat"...for real!

AWESOME! Ahahahaha ...

"Mr trumpman" ahahhahahahhahahahahahhahahahahhahahahhahaha

Mr. Mental 😂

Love learning more about you! We have only one thing in common (in this blog), and that is serial planing, I just got a new planer for 2018. and I am as happy as can be (only planers can understand)!
Kisses!

@tamacvet! How great to have a comment from you! I truly, truly appreciate ❤️

Yes, I knew we had that in commom. But like you said, at least out of the things we listed here!

Take care my little Steemit sister.

Ps: Tell Minnie I send her a huge kiss!

Oh, for the love of Christ!’ I said. Then I run out the door while screaming “die alooonee”.

Hahahaha. I couldnt hold my laughter while reading most part of write up. This post is hilarious. I checked to see some psychologically created post(jajaja) and behold it was psychological laughter i encountered.

You ran away and left your husband during the earthquake 😂😂. Muy mal :p.

Well, from where I came from, we mostly ascribe people that sleep talk at night as having spent their day talking alot or playing. My younger sister used to do that when we were small. I guess she doesnt now. I dont anyway.

And for accepting this challenge, you are indeed a rare good fellow.

You ran away and left your husband during the earthquake 😂😂. Muy mal :p.

Muy, muy mal cierto @turpsy?

But, my husband has such a good heart he never held that against me. He knows how much I love him :) When I run outside, I just stood there looking back at the cabin, a while later my husband came outside still asking what was going on! Mind you, he struggled to walk as the cabin was shaking so terribly.

We both sat outside on a stone it was beautiful, clear night. So surreal!

Great to hear we have something else in common besides our passion for science Turspy! You also have family member that sleep talk!

I am so pleased to hear you enjoyed this post! Thank you for your constant support.

Have a lovely weekend!
Best :)

But, my husband has such a good heart he never held that against me.

Claro que si. Love does find fault. I have never experience earthquake before. The one that happen last year was at the capital not close to where I am.

We both sat outside on a stone it was beautiful, clear night. So surreal!

I like this part :)

You also have family member that sleep talk!

Yeah, I do.

I did enjoy the post. Glad you accepted the challenge. Now I know some more about you.

Buen fin.

Earthquakes are scary !

I had the misfortune of being in an 5.5 aftershock, when I lived LA.
(only a duration of 2 x 6 seconds). I was in bed in 3 rd floor apartment at the time.
The most bizarre feeling to ever experience.

I am also the most unplanned person I know. I have no idea how you do it.

I lived traveling around for over two decades, and on the whim of the day, to decide were my life took me. Quite literally.

I could change continent, from one day to another - because I felt like it, when I woke up, that morning.

Cooking is one thing I love doing! (except when I was chef in my resort - I hated it then, funnily enough. Planning... discipline....)

(Reg, Derek, and Gerald all had a serious hangover's, and could not tell me of their adventures.... they will be back later on...)

Thank you taking the time to point out the things we have in common @lucylin :)

So, you were a chef in the past! I am quite passionate about gastronomy and wines as well! Well, as for your spontaneity I wish I could have just a little bit of that. I cannot imagine what must be like waking up in the morning without an agenda. It truly must give you a sense of freedom as in "you own your life".

As for Reg and his mates! Whenever they're ready :D

All the best to you always.

Freedom can be a harsh mistress.
It isn't so much a choice, as a 'state of being' required - to feel alive. (for me)

( I have a theory on that actually, but too long to discuss here).

It is who I am, though. ( but I am also enjoying having a more settled life as I get older, which is a strange sensation....)

The romantic version / perception, of 'freedom' is reserved for the 1 year 'gap tourist' to talk about.
When they are sat in their mortgaged house 10 years later, after coming home from their 9-5, and sipping their chardonnay.
(call me Mr. cynical. lol)

I know my Châteauneuf-du-Pape from a blue nun, but that's about it. lol

( I wondered around that area for some time, while 'roughing it' in France, many years ago...)

Reg and Derek will be making an appearance shortly...lol

Here is true story of an experience when I had my beach resort/restaurant - I think you might like it!

https://steemit.com/blog/@lucylin/dog-s-know-and-customer-x

I had a pet wooden coat hanger called ducky when I was a kid, until one day I broke my dads pager and he gave me a hiding with it. Needless to say ducky and I were friends no more.... I wish it had been a clothes peg.

Maybe he was Archimede's counsin @angrytatooer :)
May Archimedes & Ducky rest in peace!

Rest in peace Archimedes; I am typing this with a smile. I have my own Archimedes story, and it has nothing to with a pet. That was my favourite part of the story. Do you think if the stay high on the mountain improved your chances of surviving the 8.8 magnitude earthquake?

@greenrun! Just finished reading your upthrust story! It is SO well written. My gosh for a moment I thought the worse happened. Thank goodness for that tree. Kids are mental indeed! Not long ago my brother told me about this conversation he had with his 8 year-old-soon.

Him - Dad, what is gravity?
My Brother (panicking) - Ahhmmmm
Him - Is that what makes my ice-cream fall on the floor?
My Brother (reliefed) - YES! Exactely that!

As for the earthquake observation. Absolutely! For so many reasons we were much safer up there.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by Green :)

Thank you very much. Kids can ask the darndest question. The thing is to use the simplest example to explain it. His kid is a smart person judging by the way he nailed the gravity question. I wouldn't help but agree with him too if I'm in his shoes.

Oh I think I know much about you now, I have seen your name in SteemSTEM group once. I sleep talk sometimes too, my bro used to say is like I'm speaking another language anytime it happens. I'll be like "zethrv gdbsv efb" I wish I know what it means lol. I'm a bad cook, I'm not kitchen friendly at all, I should probably learn now, since I'm not married yet.

The earthquake part really shocked me, it's really nice to see you here. I'll stick around to learn more, I just gave you a follow too :)

Ahahaha .... I also speak in tonges like yourself 😂 but my husband tells me that sometimes it is quite clear. I mostly talk about my day to day things, he says. I really appreciate your support!
Thank you very much & see you around!

Yeaaaah.. I'm not the only weird one around lol

‘Oh, for the love of Christ!’ I said. Then I run out the door while screaming “die alooonee”.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA! This line was lethal. I almost died from laughing so hard!
@abigail-dantes Your posts never fail to make me smile or laugh. I've been waiting for your next post since the last one. And seeing this makes me think that it was worth the wait. It was a great choice following you. Hahhahaha
Kudos to you! :)

Your posts never fail to make me smile or laugh.

What a beautiful thing for you to say @annepage. It made me 'smile with my heart!'

It is a good break from mental health topics, correct? Both for me and for the readers :) Next Friday I will be back on with some psychology material! I wish you a great, great weekend!

Big hug!

Absolutely! I am looking forward to it. :D
Thank you so much. You too.
Take care! :)

Never heard of this challenge before, but it's a wonderful initiative!

I sleep talk & sleep walk.

I... don't do this myself... But I've had conversations (over the phone) with my mother she never remembered because she was asleep while we talked.

my friend's father is sleep walking.. but not your usual "walking"... He eats everything and anything he stumbles upon in his sleep.
A loaded cookie jar? Empty by morning.

Anyways, before I get into everything else but your post... Thanks for sharing! Was a fun read! :D
And I wish I shared like... a half... of your planning abilities. :3 Mind selling some? :P

Ahahahaha we can trade some of my planning skills for your writing skills 😌
Ok, this is the second comment I read about a sleep walker who attacks food! I just find it hilarious, for some reason :) as for the conversation on the phone your mother doesn’t remember ... a little ... scary ...
Thank you for stopping by! 🌷

I am honored you said that! Though not quite sure I'm willing to accept that offer. ;P
A little scary indeed, yeah, and could lead to potentially "big" mistakes. Fortunately it's mostly just chit-chatting and not-so-important appointments... And I sincerely hope it stays that way. :3
Sure thing :D

This is the best post in this challenge I've read this far. And expertly formatted to boot! How did you do the 4 pics with titles at the end?

I feel I know you better now, and we share some similar passions and traits it looks like.

First fact is an awesome opener, and just plain mental!

Ahahahah Ahahahaha
Ow ... this comment is beautiful @alexander.alexis :) thank you for the compliments! I am blushing right now. I do know you enjoy cooking as well! Your cooking series is beautiful by the way.

How did you do the 4 pics with titles at the end?

that is my husband's magic! He said there was no way I was going to just upload the gigantic photos one after the other so this is what he taught me yesterday:

He calls it The secret for tidy image display

1.You will need to resize them (I resized mine to 350x233.)
2.Then you need to add them to the markdown code.
3.It´s just the pull left/right class as below, replace the "#" with the url and you´re golden!
white.png

All the best to you :)

This is helpful! I'm bookmarking. Is your husband a programmer or something?

Maybe we should have a cookathon one day. :P I'm pretty sure you'll beat me presentation-wise, but maybe I stand a chance in the taste department!

Hello @alenxander.alexis :)

My husband is more of a something than a programmer! :D

Archimedes is so convenient and at the same time fun name for a wooden clothes peg. I presume it was with a triangular shape?

Ahahahah Oh dear @dysfunctional, thank you for taking the time to read this post! My Gosh ... 😂
Archimedes looked precisely like the peg in the image above :)

Have a great weekend! :*

Hahahaa, with a smiley face ? May God rest his soul in peace!

Thank you, dear and thanks for the post. Have a good one !

Oh yeah ! I drew the smile on it :)

You are truly a beautiful person. I know there are more things to your personality than these 5 things..wonderful post.. the Chicken Tikka Masala looks delicious

Owww ... leczy, you are so very sweet!! Thank you for taking the time to leave a nice comment :)
Yes, the tikka masala is delicious indeed! 😋
Have a great evening and a lovely Sunday. I am going to watch bad TV and hopefully fall asleep.
Bye, ye for now!

hi there miss @abigail-dantes your name is tje same as my ate's , it's a biblical name right? ,what i like about your post is first it's real very from the heart, and i really want to be like one of the facts about you serial planner, i wish i can be the same, let me try anyway, hehe, and i've experince that sleep talking with my cousin, sje really is a sleep talker, oh i miss her now, tjanks for this , newbie here, can't wait to see your next posts, thank you 👏👍❤️❤️❤️

Hi @zephalexia :)

Your words are very kind! Thank you for taking the time to write such a positive comment. I don't see why anyone wishing to be more organized cannot be it. There is no secret in this, you see. It is all about breaking down the big plans into small goal that can be achieved daily or weekly ... :)
Yes, seeing someone talking in their sleep can be either funny or scary! But, my husband tells me he is used to it; so it is never scary for him anymore.

Welcome to Steemit then. I wish you a very successful journey here on this platform!
All the best.

wow! miss @abigail-dantes, thank you very much for noticing my comment, i really appreciate you also taking time to comment back for me, you are auch an inspiration to all steemians and definitely very good decision to click FOLLOW tab, you are ao kind, God bless you more and your family , thank you really from the bottom of my heart 😘😍❤️❤️❤️

i have lots of plan in my head, but i can work according to my plan, because of many restriction. as i am a student, i want to buy some cryptocurrency, i told my parents about this , they replied " first earn , and invest as you wish , we cant afford your investment and your education together" next is i have taken a loan of 250$ , i dont know how will i pay . i want to buy coin with this amount , but i am from nepal and it is illegal here. there is no any center wher i can buy the coins . its so pathetic . i have a dream and i can live in it . the worst of all :(

Hi @sanjay2011s :)

I can see we have something in common! I was told a similar thing by my parents when I lived with them as a young student. All I can say to you is that try not to think that you are not able to live your dream! I know it feels frustrating for you right now, but look at how promising your life looks: you having loving parents who care about you enough to provide you with education :) I am guessing here that you have a great future ahead of you, but please try not to obscure it with pessimistic views!

All the best to you :)

thank you so much for replying me , i am surviving just to fulfill my dream . yeah my parents take care of me , and looking after my education. its quite harder for them to manage the fee, this is why i will earn myself to fulfill my dream . i hope will fulfill with in some years .

@abigail-dantes Your facts are truly amazing. I love the fact that you plan really well. I can barely plan for the next 2 days (LOL)
I also played with a lot of pegs but never kept them for up to a month.
Plus, the "die alooonee" part really cracked me up.
I love your detailed writing skill. And I hope to have that someday.

@berylwills

Hello @berylwills :)
Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to comment! I think you are the only one who shares the “love” for pegs with me! 😂
I really appreciate your kind words.
Best :)

You're welcome 😊

die alooonee hahaha i couldn't help there, i even imagined it :P i have lived too a massive earthquake one of the worst in my country 19 years go so i can relate a bit! now that you mentioned we are waiting for desserts both me and the whole steemstem community :P

that's challenge is damn cool and funny, you get to know better everyone in here!

Hello dear @filostasriza :)

Earthquakes are scary indeed! This is a huge thing to have in common, that is for sure :)
I am so happy you liked the dessert images! Thank you for reading.
Best!

wow, only 5 facts showed how bright and entertaining you are, and definitely with a life full of events. The fact about Archimedes touched me to the depths of my soul, and the next transition to the earthquake literally knocked the ground out from under the feet, with such an unexpected turn. Thank you sharing.

@natord, this is such a beautifully written (and incredibly kind) comment I had to go and see more of your writing. I loved your Nature Digest. Please consider using the steemstem tag in your futre posts related to nature and technology :) Just in case you don’t know what I am talking about and are interested in it, take a few minutes to read Being a member of the Steemstem community.

Thank you so much for your most encouraging words!
Best :)

Thank you for your attention and participation!

I know about steemstem and have great respect for this community and what they do. Respect so much that I think I have no right to use their tag in such posts. I look at how much time and effort other people spend on their posts about science and how cool they write. So I'm embarrassed to clog this tag with my posts and prevent curators to find more worthy authors.

I try to use their tag only when writing a fairly large and detailed posts on very interesting topics (in my opinion), like these: 1, 2.

Thanks for sharing @abigail-dantes! I think our different extreme experiences are our commonality. I've started to share my own experience. I think it's that fight/flight adrenaline rush of those types of visceral moments in life; heart pounding, brain firing at hyper-velocity. Ancient brain-patterns at work.

I admire your ability to be such a careful planner. I can do that in spurts, but, I'm a little too scatter-brained to keep it up. I sort of fly by the seat of my pants and let whatever happen, happen.

So, basically, I'm kind of a procrastinator...

@therightsideofup! ❤️

I read your last post! Incredibly touching .... you write SO well. Good to find out you also have another blog. The photos are just incredible and I was particularly touched by the one you call home away from home! Yes, apparently, we don’t have many things in common; but that feels wonderful though. That is why I can learn so much from you :)

There are times in life I wish I could take that more laid-back approach of yours... I believe it would totally serve me well. I will get there!

Have a reat week 🌷🙂

Thank you! We all have something to teach, and we all need to learn! I wasn't sure what to expect when I started this Steemit experience. But seeing high quality posts, like the content you produce, is making me think that this, whatever it is, has so much potential. As far as the laid-back approach... well, that's a post for another time!

😂 Looking forward to it!!

Hello @abigail-dantes! Who would say that a psychologist would have an inanimate pet as a child? curious, right? What we have in common is the premeditated to do things, everything is meticulously planned, and apparently you speak Spanish so you can read my post in my native language I liked your post, a warm greeting!

Hello @javisem :)

Nice to hear we are both planners! So, I am assuming you can relate to my feelings of distress when something unexpected comes up. Oh... I must get better at that. It does not do me any favors :/

Yes, I can read Spanish! I am following your blog.

Best.

Hello @abigail-dantes!
In no way do you have to change that, personally, these feelings of anguish, is what makes us premeditated, perfectionists, personally does not bother me, I have learned to live with it and take advantage of it.
Thank you for responding and for your generosity, someday I will have a lot of SP to be generous in supporting others.
In my last post in Spanish, I talk about that Regards! :D

Not only do I already have my entire next week planned in my diary, but I also have the week after that all figured out!

Now this is a sort of a person I'd like to become. I'm literally the complete opposite haha
Unorganized pile of mess.. Even if I was trying to plan everything it wouldn't go the way I planned, at all!
great post btw :)

Thank you for the nice comment @croata.

But do keep in mind that being this methodical is not always a 'walk in the park!'. I am still trying to find the middle ground here :)

I am impulsive and never plan a thing, article was written beautifully, it seemed like going through a character of a play, like "friends". Writing was unique and interesting. I think you are very sensitive. sleep talking runs in my family as well.

Hi @kay-khosa :)

Gosh ... you are always so full of kindness. Your comments are constantly incredibly encouraging!

article was written beautifully

Thank you so much. It means A LOT to me! I am glad to hear we have something in common :)

All the best for you always.

You must be an amazing person. Cant imagine the experience you had on staying strong after the 8.8 magnitude earthquake. I was shocked and didnt moved when I woke up to a 5.5 magnitude earthquake here in our country.
I am always amazed with super organized people. Hope I could do the same but I usually mess up my schedule and Im getting used to it.
About the sleep walking though,I can relate since my brother sleep walks and talks and its truly frightening . Since he talks about people who are not there. Do you know any treatment perhaps to alleviate this? I would really appreciate it if you will respond. Thanks

@sakura1012, I am really sorry, but I do not know any treatment for this. I have read and searched vastly about this topic, but the most interesting explanation I have come across is that in some people it might be related to stress. However, this notion does NOT apply to me. My episodes take places both when I am going through a stressful moment in life and when things are all good!

I am so sorry I could not answer your question!
All the best for you and your brother.

No thats okey your response is more than enough for me . Thanks @ abigail-dantes

You and I are polar opposites. You do, however, have striking similarities to my sister.

Her pet, when she was little, was an ant name ‘Toets’.

She probably allocates a time slot to brush her teeth... lol

She also loves counting sheep at night.

And, she would definitely make 3 desserts for ever main meal:)

It was nice getting to know you better.

@exercisinghealth !! Thank you for visiting my blog 😃

It looks like your sister and I would get on really well! Sharing delicious recipes whithin the allocated time, of course :)

Ps: I trust Toets is happy in ant’s heaven.

Have a great weekend.

Oh, I do love cooking. Unfortunately, I am not very good at planning the things I do. I have basic things I do but apart from those, I just do every other thing as they come along. Thanks for sharing. It feels now that I know you a little bit more.

Ahahaha
Cooking is amazing! :) You know @churchboy, I am quite surprised with the number of people here who have told me they are spontaneous and deal with things as they come along! I wish I had a bit of that in me :/ If something unexpected appears, which is every now and then, I feel rather overwhelmed!

I am glad you feel you know me a little better now.
That is nice :)

Yes, I like cooking but experimenting with new food is just the best part, like one day I ordered pizza and it was quite expensive. Plus I had to wait long to have it. "Screw it" I said. I went home and made myself a pizza and it was so good, I had to do it again. Yes, it is wonderful to know you a little better.

While you wish to be a little more like us, I am wishing to be a lot more like you. In fact I think it is doable. For instance, I can decide to come on steemit whenever I see you're here. Just kidding. I live here.

Good to see you today and thank you for being you.

I AM IMPRESSED!! That is one good looking pizza.
You made me hungry now ... Hahahahahah

Thank you. I'm glad you liked it. 😊

I admire that way of having everything planned. I find it very difficult to be so disciplined, I'm working on it.

I also sleep talk like you and i also sleep shout(lol..i doubt if there is any word like that). Any time i sleep walk, my mum would always say it is a spiritual problem.

My Gosh!!! I had a massive giggle whe you said sleep shout 😂
If that expression doesn’t exist, you have coined it today @seanmalex!
Thanks for the comment :)

It is funny though, let's say i coined it today. Any time i sleep talk or shout, My siblings would record it on their phones. Then surprise me later...then i would be like "when did i say all these vague words?"

Ahahahah Oh my God!! I will not give that idea to my husband! Definitely NOT :D

Lol....Do you actually believe you sleep talk?My siblings do that to me, because i argue with them always that i don't sleep talk. So they go ahead to record it to show me as an evidence.

I believe I do because I have been told so by my mother, father, best friend, brother and husband! :D

Hahaaha....this is enough evidence.what could probably be the cause?

@abigail-dantes... You are so fluent in writing... I envy you.. Keep it up.. I believe we both have cooking ability in common, but I wish to taste your meal for i have the believe that it would change my life on steemit.. I have to upvote the post its a must.. The post is lovely

Your comment is very kind and encouraging @happymichael :)
I am glad to hear we have something in common! Thank you very much for taking the time to stop by. Have a great week ahead! 🌷

And yu too miss @abigail-dantes you can also visiT my blog someTimes, i have some interesting articles u might like

I cook some delicious meals & desserts

Aha, I think we share that one in common. I cook delicious meals too. Though majorly naija cuisines :)
Nice one buddy

Ow @samminator .... isn't great to find out we have other things in common than our passion for science and wine? :)

:*

It's an honour buddy

Archimedes was sure a good friend, im still trying to figure out what we have in common... maybe none!
i don't sleep talk but i drool lol
any tips on how to correct that will be appreciated

Drolling?!! Ahahahaha Oh my God @rharphelle, no. No tips for you :D
Thank you for the funny comment!

Lol as funny as it may sound, its quite a truth... I'm glad I could make you laugh

Wow, love that you did it. Actually, I just found your profile and wanted to learn more about you. This was a nice begining.
P.S. Love that tiramisu, it's watching me and begging me to buy one here in Croatia! :)

Hello there @dreamdiary 😊
Thank you very much for taking the time to learn a little about me. Yes, the tiramisu is delicious indeed ( you see how proud I am? ).
All the best.

Ok I need to visit you ... to try the food :D

Well @lemouth, Portugal is not that far from France! 😊❤️

Can you host four people? :D

If you don’t mind the boys would have to sleep on a matrisse 😊

They wont stay there... and explore :D

@ abigail-dantes I congratulate you, excellent publication! and I applaud you for the challenge. Even though I am a teacher, I have that lack of planning, I do not say with this that I do not do it, but I really like improvisation, I think it's because of my free spirit, hehehehe

Thank you very much @jayoxaju :)
I really admire free-spirited people.
Thank you for commenting!

Thanks @abigail, I really like to do things as the moment arises, always keeping in mind that I must have my feet well on the ground so as not to be mistaken but personally I have found it. A big hug, by the way I'm a blood sister of @javisem who told me very nice things about you.

Oh! Wonderful ... yes, he is a special follower of mine.
Always very supportive and positive :)
Well, it is a pleasure to meet you & congratulations on your last posts about teachers. You shared some lovely photos there. Seeing those happy kids made me smile :)
All the best to you!

Thank you dear @abigail-dantes, I hope it does not sound daring and more thanks for your visit to my blog. Here a faithful follower who will be very attentive to his writings, since I want to learn and grow every day, taking more of his tics to improve each day. God bless you.

Hey @abigail-dantes, I decided to check you out after your comment on my meditation post :) what star sign are you? the way you plan your days and weeks, I wouldn't be surprised to find you're a virgo, as they are notorious for this! I myself am a Virgo, and I enjoy structure and organisation, but I'm not as strict as you are. Reading about your commitment to your schedule system took me slightly aback, I can definitely do with a little bit more of this energy, but I recognise that it can be quite stressful indeed to deal with the unpredictability of life. Don't you feel like you wanna be spontaneous as well sometimes? Do you allocate time for that too? :) Lovely to make your acquaintance, I followed you!

That is very nice of you @bristena94. I appreciate your support very much!

I have recently learnt that my start sign is Scorpio - I am not sure what it means though (being a Scorpio). Yes, I do organize my days off with the same diligence I organize my work days! And answering your question ... definitely! I would love to be a more spontaneous person. This is something I try to work on and hopefully achieve sooner than later :)

All the best!

Oh, Scorpios can be both fun and dangerous! Hehe. I've got loads of planets in Scorpio, but I won't bore you with the details if you're not into astrology. I'm sure you can learn with time and practice to be more flexible and surrender more to the present moment. I found that doing so has enriched my experience and relaxed my mind about everything! Hehe. It's all about trust <3

I'm new here so I don't know much about challenges. I would like to be challenged as well! How does that happen? Haha.

Well, what about if I challenge you now?? As a new Steemean!
You have to be officially challenged by someone, and on your post you say ... I have been challenged by abigail to ... just like I put at the begining of this post! Then you challenge someone at the end of your post!

So @bristena94, you are officially being challenged by me to tell us 5 facts about you! I will follow you now and expect that post! :)

Hehe! That's awesome! Thanks a lot! I will write the post very soon. Youhuu!

:)

Here you go! Thanks for the challenge, I really enjoyed writing some things about me! If you like it, I would really appreciate it if you could upvote&resteem :) https://steemit.com/challenge/@bristena94/challenge-accepted-here-are-5-quirky-things-about-me

I am not a somnambulist (I think) but I have always wondered what it would be like to be walking while dreaming... would the dream be related or could you still be standing still in your dream while walking around?

Hey @plushzilla :)

That is a good question! I remember this one time when I was having a crazy dreams about books and woke up by my book shelf. Mind you this doesn’t happen very often. It has now been 3 monts since I had an episode.

Thank you for your comment!
:)

"Insomniac Psychologist who sleep walks " :0

Ouch! :P
Thanks for reading @himal :)
All the best for you.

I have to say that the closest thing we have in common based on your 5 facts is that you make delicious desserts and I love to eat delicious desserts!!!!

Ahhhh .... the eating the dessert part! I see... 😂

You really live an exciting life to share. I really enjoyed this post about you.

😊🌷 thank you for reading @bitdollar!

Loved it. You are a fantastic contributed here I am finding. :) Following!
