Core development!!! Side crunches !!! Aka Oblique crunches!!!
We have worked on the front/abs the back muscles now we are on to your sides/obliques. We are going all the way around the body for a complete development of ALL the major muscle groups that make up your core. There are more and I will get into at a later time.
Lay onto your side and bend your knees. Make sure you have solid balance. Slide the arm under your body up to your head and let your head rest in your hand. Your neck will be sore if you don't. Take the other arm raise it and place your hand behind your head.
Now you are ready!!! Begin to bend your torso so your shoulder comes off the ground as high as your body will let you. Squeeze your sides as hard as you can. Lean back a little bit to allow the abs to also get involved!!!
(Raise the top leg to add more difficulty and to develop your abductors. This will also deepen the crunch)
Do this for 30-90 seconds at a time 3-5 sets and make sure you roll over and do both sides!!!
