Joe Russo, co-director of Avengers: Infinity War, has said that the Marvel Cinematic Universe will take a drastic turn after Avengers 4, a film to be released in 2019.
If everything that begins has an ending, you have to think that the Marvel Universe also, since Joe Russo has said that Avengers 4, the successor of Infinity War, will be the end point of a story that began with Iron Man in 2008.
During the promotional press conference of Avengers: Infinity War, which he directs with his brother Anthony, Joe has said the following:
I think it's very different. I think Marvel has been writing a book for ten years, this is the end of the book and someone is going to write a new book. Who knows what the new book will be, but this is one that is ending and that will be a new beginning.
The plot of Avengers 4 is still unknown; however, it is speculated that, with the group diminished after the death of one or more superheroes in the battle against Thanos, the HYDRA organization reappears with the intention of finishing the work they started in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, a film also directed by the brothers Russo.
