Greetings fellow Steem users.
A little bit of background about me and my channel, and what I do.
I basically grew up in a middle-class neighborhood, with middle-class parents who were pretty awesome, and I'm fortunate enough to still have them married. They I pretty much owe everything to, and I wouldn't be who I am without them.
I started my dive into geekdom when I first was introduced to Red Alert in my early years. (My eldest brother was very much into gaming.) I would sneak into his room while he was at work and play pretty much all of his games.
From there I progressed from games such as Red Alert, Homeworld, the second zelda game for the NES (which is hands-down my favorite zelda), Half-Life, (of which I profess my undying love for this piece of binary data sent by the Gods with the tattoo below.) and then was sucked into even g̶e̶e̶k̶i̶e̶r̶ more awesome things like BattleStar Galactica, Star Trek, Star Wars, Weird Al Yankovic...then got into the addiction of coming home from school and binge-watching Toonami while I inhaled Fruity Pebbles, which started me down the road to some sick anime such as Cowboy Bebop, Big-O, Outlaw Star, Samurai Champloo...and some other "classics".
Then basically asking anyone on the planet to engage in discussion with me about black holes, and making everyone feel weird by doing shit like building catapults made out of Popsicle sticks in study hall, or constructing suits of wooden armor with speakers attached and blasting 80's hair metal in passing periods...I was kinda weird.
But those were my glory days. Now, I'm married, have a step son who I'm lucky enough to have him call me dad, have a steady job as a bitchin' food slinger (or server...I prefer food slinger) and Alcoholic Beverage Pourer, and am currently taking classes at Ivy Tech. I'm a tad less over the edge now, I guess, but my passion has always been gaming.
So my goal in life for my Steemit channel is to embrace the crypto community, as I think that it is the future of transactions and how we can pay for goods and services amongst each other without third party interference. I don't see it as a "get-rich-quick" scheme or some kind of investment. I believe crypto can truly make us more free.
My alternative goal, in tandem with my accompanying Facebook channel "Smoke Break", (it's not that great, I'm probably going to put the good shit here) is to essentially turn my idle thoughts into fun and entertaining things for other people to enjoy who might have like-minded interests and laugh at the same shit I do. I'm a pretty laid-back guy, and I'm not really looking to be the next (insert "Mom we HAVE to stand in line for 45 minutes to buy his NEW SHIRT!") social media character.
This will mainly be a channel to discuss and post about Old Video games that give me nostalgia feels, new games that give me feels in general, stream some fun games with my kiddo, post some jack-assery I may get myself into, and on occasion, the scattered borderline-anarchist posts ranting about how much thuggy cops suck/government sucks/why-can't-I-just-build-a-f**king-pool-on-my-own-damn-land/etc kind of stuff.
...but mostly game and sci-fi related content.
In my spare time I hope to post an actual produced video of my formal introduction, but for now, I would like to thank you for taking the time to read my wordy words, and look forward to those who are interested to becoming one big happy (batman would totally beat superman) family.
Cheers, from my family to yours! Glad to be a part of the community.
