Rescue operations by Firemen are important components in the management of emergencies. Firefighters fight aggressive fires, rescue people during natural disasters, or extinguish industrial calls and constantly risk their lives to safeguard lives, properties, or the natural world.
In the case of the National Institute of Fire and Safety Management (NIFS), we focus on preparing individuals for carrying out rescue operations appropriately. The courses in calamities such as earthquake and floods, fire disasters and some industrial accidents help prepare firefighters to intervene quickly and properly armed.
Why Fireman Rescue Operations Matter
Rescue procedures are much more than just putting out fire. Firefighters often find themselves navigating unpredictable and dangerous situations, such as:
Robbing the trapped victims from the collapsed buildings that result from earthquakes.
A classic example is the removal of individuals from parts of the community affected by floods.
Handling of spillage of hazardous materials particularly those emitted by manufacturing industries in regions dominated by industrial buildings.

Challenges in Fireman Rescue Operations
Not that there is anything wrong with firefighting; it has a number of hurdles that are associated with it. Quick and/or extreme changes in temperatures, fire behavior and the fire environment place firefighters in harm’s way. As well,, the conditions such as working in small confined space or in tall buildings complicate the rescue operations.
To this end, emotional concern including loss of dear ones and destruction of property is another concern that concerns firefighters. This is why mental resilience and emotional preparedness are components of training within NIFS training programs.
