Company Benefits vs Salary

Things we always consider when applying in a company are its benefits. Some would say, BENEFITS are more important than SALARY.

Healthcare plan = 32%
Vacation Time = 25%
Pay Raise = 15%
Employee Benefit = 10%
Performance Bonus = 9%
Retirement Plan = 8%

And Healthcare plan tops the most important benefit here in the Philippines because let's face it "Mahal magkasakit."

But did you know that not all sickness and diseases are covered by most HMOs? I remember the time when I got pregnant and learned that the company healthcare plan doesn’t cover maternity. And there I thought everything was going well with my labor planning.

It seems that HMO packages do differ on every company. And the more coverage you have, the more expensive it gets. Well, as for my company, they focused more on salary than benefits. It may be acceptable for some, but it sure is something to consider for the long haul.
