In 1983, Krull happened. My brother, quoting IMDb.com, called it, “Excalibur meets Star Wars: A New Hope.” I don’t know what to think of it, truthfully. It is weird.
A fortress from the stars lands on the planet Krull, unleashing the Slayers to conquer. They interrupt a wedding that is forging an alliance between two kingdoms, kill the two kings and kidnap the bride, Lyssa (Lysette Anthony). Her betrothed, Colwyn (played by Ken Marshall) sets out to rescue her.
This is one of those movies everybody has heard of but very few have actually seen.
The Good...
I don’t know where to start. This is not a good film but it is a lot of fun. It’s hilarious but I don’t think it means to be.
The Not so Good...
I don’t know where to start. This is not a good film but it is a lot of fun. Sorry.
The effects are awful though they were new for the time.
The characters are just archetypes and don’t go beyond them.
Not much else to say, really.
It’s really not a good film but it’s a lot of fun.

I loved it as a child, but it did not age well.
