Zardoz is a 1974 Irish-American science fantasy film written, produced, and directed by John Boorman and starring Sean Connery and Charlotte Rampling, and featuring Sara Kestelman. The film, Connery's second post-James Bond role—after The Offence—was shot by cinematographer Geoffrey Unsworth on a budget of US$1.57 million as it depicts a future world where a stone image called "Zardoz" instructs the "Brutals" to kill each other for eternal life.
The film received mixed-to-negative reviews. Roger Ebert of the Chicago Sun-Times called it a "genuinely quirky movie, a trip into a future that seems ruled by perpetually stoned set decorators... The movie is an exercise in self-indulgence (if often an interesting one) by Boorman, who more or less had carte blanche to do a personal project after his immensely successful Deliverance." Jay Cocks of Time called the film "visually bounteous", with "bright intervals of self-deprecatory humor that lighten the occasional pomposity of the material." Nora Sayre, in a 7 February 1974 review for The New York Times, called Zardoz a melodrama that is a "good deal less effective than its special visual effects"... a film "more confusing than exciting even with a frenetic, shoot-em-up climax." Decades later, Channel 4 called it "Boorman's finest film" and a "wonderfully eccentric and visually exciting sci-fi quest" that "deserves reappraisal".[4] Despite being a commercial failure and mostly panned by critics, Zardoz has since developed a cult following and found success on the home video market.

Hi! I am a robot. I just upvoted you! I found similar content that readers might be interested in:

Uploading any films on DTube you don't own can cause copyright issues.
Keep stopping that in order to prevent any more flags.
Do you work for Dtube?
No, I don't.
But as the flag is supposed also for "Fraud or Plagiarism" I feel right flagging your last posts.
It is harming for the platform DTube but also could get you in serious trouble.
So you do not work for Dtube, you are 17 years old and you feel entitled to use your superior SP in order to do what you "feel" is "right" for the platform and to protect me from myself as well. Right?
And btw, all my uploads are not "plagiarism" or "fraud". Sources are all clearly noted. I do not claim to have made or even own these films. They are for education purposes primarily and I will remove them if asked by their owners. Of which you are not.
And btw, most of those videos are freely available on youtube already. And no one bothers them - they see it mostly as welcome promotion for their official copies of obscure films (hence my name) which wouldn't otherwise sell at all.
Trust me on this, I'm a professional film director and producer, I know these things. This is seen as free promotion.
You really believe that making Dtube more restrictive and limited is going to help the platform while trying to compete with the established ones?
it is not what I might feel what is right for the platform as it is a film with copyright.
You are not allowed to upload this on DTube. It is forbidden.
Also it is not your own work. Text copied 100% from Wikipedia and film, you already know where it comes from.
As I don't want other people to find and upvote plagiarized stuff I just hide it with my flag.
And protecting you from yourself…
Each of my flags has a reason. Think about it maybe it will help you.
Again, most of those videos are available on youtube. I know what I am doing. Dtube will not survive if it does not offer content which is competitive with youtube or similar services. I am extra careful to post stuff which is strictly low profile - cult and obscure movies, old documentaries. This is for Dtube's own good. I do not post recent programs or films, or anything which might draw attention of the Big Players, nothing which is "current" in any way.
Sorry to have to pull experience again, but I work in these circles. I know how these things work, and I know why youtube allows and is allowed to have those films on their channels.
It is not a 100% thing, not by far.
If Dtube does not turn a blind eye to this kind of content, just like youtube does, or even more, it won't have any chance of competing whatsoever.
What I am doing is good for Dtube.
... and as for what Dtube says in its official releases and documentation.. what it is required to say... well take a look at comparable stuff from youtube then look at what you can find there on the channels. It is not that simple, not by far.
You can see this from several views. But uploading any films without any own work of you is plagiarism.
You can say it helps DTube or whatelse. It will not change this point.
And I can say you:
Creating issues with copyright is not the thing DTube wants to achieve. It is a platform for creators uploading individual content not copied stuff.
And if it is also on YouTube why should these people change to DTube ? They need new attractive content which is not on YouTube but only on DTube.
Contrary to @naturicia I would firmly claim that what @cinemaobscura is doing is a service to society and of benefit to all.
