New Holmes. New Watson. New York. - Perfect crimes meet the perfect match
As I yesterday wrote about Ghost Wars, I want to take it to a different genrer today.
The show I can recommend watching today is: ELEMENTARY
img source.
Episode runtime: aprox 60 minuts pr episode
Seasons: 5 complete seasons.
Status: Season 6 starting this may 2018.
Show started: 2012
Genrer: Crime, Drama, Mystery.
Stars: Jonny Lee Miller, Lucy Liu, Rhys Ifans
Show Creator: Robert Doherty.
Availability: Available for streaming on Netflix
Imdb: Rated 7.9
Rotten tomatoes: Rated 96% / 88%
Extremely high ratings for a tv-show, but it is worth watching.
Elementary is modern day Sherlock Holmes, where we follow Sherlock and Watson in crime solving, Sherlock has a very good eye for detail and solves cases in a different way than the detectives normally does, and he trains Watson (his sober companion) in being good at this as well.
This show actually have some sort of a storyline going from the very first episode and being "touched" in all episodes, so basicly we have a new crime to solve in each episode and then the storyline to keep going, there are however some of the crimes that goes over more than a single episode.
I like watching this show, but be carefull not to binge it, that could become quite a handfull and will exhaust you, sometimes I get behind alot and have to binge half a season and then I get behind again, or I watch it as a background show and keep rewinding, binging this can be sucky.
The crimes and the ways they are solved in this show is quite good, its not overly exaggerated like CSI has become, and there are many episodes where you sit and try to solve the crime before Sherlock does, which makes it quite fun to watch at times.
When it comes to the cast, I think Johnny Lee Miller plays the role very good, hes like a sheldon from big bang theory really, just less humerous, and as for Lucy Liu, she is a good actor overall in this show.
Could I watch this tv-show again?
yea sure, its a good show to have in the background actually.
Some might say I should rate the movies, but with the way I do it its pretty hard to rate them, because I only write about movies that I recommend for watching, I dont write about the ones I dont want to see or stopped watching because I thought it was garbage. So by that I wont be rating the movies that I recommend, they are all on the high scale.
This show is a modern version of Sherlock Holmes, where he solves crimes as a consultant for the NYPD, and finds a partner to teach in alternative crime solving.
For TV-Shows it is quite alright to check out the trailer, depending on the age of the trailer, as you can easily get fooled and finding a quick recap of the first season of the show, and that would kinda suck.
So when watching trailers for tv-shows, be sure it is one of the first trailers that came out, to ensure there are not too many spoilers, but still informfull enough to give you an idea about the show

In the reviews that I make, I try not to give out too much information, and keep the spoilers away, there is nothing fun about watching something and knowing everything in advance, not quite the same as watching it fresh.
