The Filipino Taste Bud

The Filipino are very Fan of eating contrasting taste which complement each other.
We crave for it that excite our palate which is deeply embedded to our culture.
We love to eat in fact we eat almost five time a day or more.
In the morning we drink our Coffee to kick start our day.

Breakfast staples are Pandesal with egg, silog which stand for Sinangag and Itlog then combine with Tapa and called tap silog.
Hotdogs, Tocino, Dried Fish, Dried Anchovies with Radish.
Fish is very abundant so fried fish like Bangus or Milkfist, Tilapia, Galonggong, Matambaka, are also part of our breakfast meal either fried or into soup.

but before we go to lunch we mostly have our morning snacks.
from Steamed sweet corn, Sandwhich, kikiam, fishball, squidballs, cheessticks, scramble (Shave ice with flavoring), mais con yelo, ice drop, ice candy, bread, palitaw, bitsu bitsu, suman or even a simple Taho (tofu with tapioca with thick sugar syrup).

Luch will be loaded.
Adobo mostly pork or chicken, Sinigang with sour tamarind basee soup, Monggo Beans with shrimp or dried fist in it, Buttered Chicken, Grilled Meat, BBQ, Chopseuy, Menudo, Kaldereta, papaitan, porkchop, pansit guisado, Grilled Bangus, Balbacua, dinuguan, kinilawn bulalo are so mouth watering

afternoon is not complete with out another snack break which mostly burger, Filipino sweet spaghetti, palabok, siopao, turon, maruya, kwek-kwek, Fresh and Fried Lumpia, lumpiang shanghai, dirty ice cream, batchoy,lomi, mami, Pancit canton with bread, and quenched our afternoon heat with Buko Halo Halo.

Then comes massive Dinner, because mostly of us are free from work and school and fimily can have a time together with a heavy mill and a lot of chit chat about our days.
Crispy Pata, Kare-kare, Inihaw na pusit, Garlic Chicken, Lechon manok, Garlic shrimp, Patutin, chicken sotanghon,patatim, Tinolang manok, Inasal, Tokwa't baboy, grilled hito.

if you think its gonna end here... even at night we mostly love to eat our BBQ like isaw, pork, chicken, betamax, chicken feet, helmet on a side walk vendor having a grilling corner. and yes balut are mostly on this time of hour that Filipino order.

But if with friend and in a party drinking alcohol.
Sizzling are coming, gambas, calamares, camaron rebusado, kinilaw na tuna, grilled Panga, tuna belly, bake scallops, but sisig is the main contender.

as the late night party ends, we filipino still eat for our hang over foods beef pares. pata, balachong or even a simple cup noodles just to fill our tummy before we call it a day.

Oh! and never forget that we do love our Rice because "Rice is Life"....
