Has your Filipina Girlfriend ever given you the silent treatment?
In this article, you will learn the 5 signs of Tampo and when things are not okay with your Filipina girlfriend even when she tells you it’s okay.
Picture this:
You drop her home and kiss goodnight and tell her how much fun you had with her and tell her I love you and say goodbye and head home.
The following day, you check your phone and it says “No Unread Messages”.
Weird. This isn’t normal.
So you text your Filipina girlfriend and greet her good morning and she replies, ” Thanks.”
Weirder.
So you remind her to eat breakfast like what she usually does for you even if you have never needed a reminder to eat in your entire life.
And she replies “Ok, thanks.”
What??? No emoticons, no asking back?
You text again asking, “Are you ok?” and she replies “Yup, just busy with work.”
So you shrug it off thinking that she might just have loads of work and the last thing she needs is to waste time responding to you.
So off you go with your usual day at work. Have lunch with friends from the office. Then you think of texting her – “Don’t forget to eat lunch”. But you remind yourself that she’s busy with work so stop bugging her. You tell yourself, “Bro, didn’t you get her message earlier? She’s busy so stop being a sissy.” So you just leave her alone so she can focus.
That night, you receive a text “How could you be so manhid”. (Manhid is the Filipino/Tagalog word for insensitive).

How could you be so MANHID!!
You suddenly are dumbfounded and you have no idea what her message means so you reply, “Baby, is this text for me?” and she responds “Duh, have you turned so dumb aside from being manhid?”
You try to recall everything that happened last night and all you could think of was having such a great time!
But if you take a closer look and retrace your steps and pick up what she said, you will easily find out through the 5 signs.
Sign #1 You did not receive a good morning text from her.
This is very uncommon for a Filipina not to text you good morning. The first thing that she does when she wakes up is grab her phone and send you a sweet good morning message.
And she takes effort in it to make sure that she does not repeat any of her messages. It could be a totally different good morning or a barrage of emojis of sweet nothings.
Sign #2 She responds with one liners.
The Filipina will not settle in replying with just one liners or the lack of emojis. Communication is very important to the Filipina and she will not waste a text message with one liners if everything is alright. Just try observing all her previous messages. See my point?
Sign #3 Her text message does not contain any hahahaha or lol or smiley or emojis.
The Filipina will find ways to make her text messages sweet even if her phone lacks the function of emojis.

Remember, most of her messages have: “Hahaha! LOL! or 🙂 and of course the endless emojis” some of which you never knew existed.
Sign #4 It takes her more than 5 minutes to reply
The Filipina has her phone with her almost all the time. Her phone is within arm’s reach even if she takes a shower making sure that every important text gets a reply asap.
Once you notice that it takes her longer than usual to reply, you may have done something wrong.
Sign #5 When she replies “Ok lang”
Ok lang is one of the most common deal breakers with the Filipina girlfriend. This is on top of the list with replies like “K” and “Bahala ka”
Bonus Sign Your Filipina Girlfriend tells you she’s busy with work
Love life ranks high among her priorities. Regardless of educational background or status in life, love life is A PRIORITY. If she responds with one liners, you are definitely in trouble. She might tell you she’s busy but she will always find the time to send a text or better yet call you.

Good stuff. Based on my own experience, I can say that a happy Filipina always texts with "hahaha" and lots of emojis! It's also common to get, "Did you eat already, Dadi?" Now on Luzon, I get "let's eat." I respond with a happy "Oo. Kain na tayo." :-)
Thanks @expatlove! Yup, very well said about the way a Filipina texts. Hahaha is really part of every conversation. And no hahahaha means trouble!!
