Number five in the competition for best figure skater butt is the fierce and determined Elena Viktorovna Berezhnaya. She is a Russian skater who, along with her partner Anton Sikharulidze, is the 1998 and 1999 World champion. She is also a 1998 Olympic silver medalist and 2002 Olympic champion. Her combination of athletic ability and work ethic has lifted her to the top of her sport.
Ms. Berezhnaya also overcame a serious injury that might have ended the career of a less-determined skater. During a training session in January 1996, she suffered a serious injury that left her partially paralyzed. Her injuries were so severe that she was unable to speak! But she worked hard and came back from her injuries in record time. In less thantwo years, she and her partner were back on the ice and competing at the highest levels.
