The story is exactly 50 words long.
“It was just a holiday romance”, their parents said. Like the initials scratched in the sand with a driftwood stick, the day they met, wiped away by an errant wave, “it won't last,” they said.
Sixty years later they wave at their great grandchildren, playing in the sand, and smile.
Also, great little story! The sea shore is really able to bring out that expanse feelings need to linger while time is washed away, doesn't it?

Especially when it's raining! (Nice and quiet. Not a bikini girl myself....).
Yes! There is a stretch of beach on the Atlantic coast in France that stretches for over 200k. There is so much space that even in the summer you can find quiet stretches (not that we go in the summer). It is fabulous there, great for the dogs. The photo used for the title was taken there in December. :)
