The SFT Curates 10/17/17

in #fiction7 years ago

The SFT is back with two wonderful stories--a whimsical lesson about social interdependence, and a different take on going out in style. We hope you enjoy!

WHAT MADE THESE STORIES STAND OUT TO US?

We chose these selections because they are tightly written, well-edited, and show creative innovation. The authors were willing to work hard to get the technical aspects right, as well as the storytelling mechanics. One of these stories is past payout, which means readers should not upvote it. Yet it's extemely worthy of a place in the SFT Library, as well as whatever recognition for the author our curation will bring. Please consider upvoting a current post on the author's blog if you enjoy his wonderful work of fiction.

These curated stories will appear today in the SFT Library.

CURATION: 10/18/17

Our selections this week are listed alphabetically by username: “Henna Pecked,” by @carolkean, and “Clear Sky Departures,” by @jordan.lesich.

Henna lived her life the way she wanted. It won her no love from the villagers, all living lives they thought were better. But time has a way of teaching everyone what is true.

Karen told Fred Bell to go to the river and watch the sunset. She said it’d be good for him. That it was something you had to see before you died. And he took her at her word.

The SFT is always accepting donations to support talented fiction authors on Steemit. Please send SBD or Steem gifts to @sft. You can also support the SFT by following our curation trail or purchasing a Steemshelf. All Steemshelf monies go to @sft. Our curators take no percentage. They are volunteers, and often donate SBD themselves for author rewards.

This curation trail was conceptualized by @andrewgenaille, @rhondak, @mk40, and @swelker101. Logo created by @pegasusphysics. If you would be interested in lending your support through delegation, please contact @mk40 or @swelker101.

Huge thanks to Steemit Fiction Trail and all the unpaid volunteers curating stories, donating time and money to encourage and reward other authors. And thank you for recognizing my own story. Rhonda's write-ups are amazing - you could make a career out of this @rhondak!
