Pain. Hot searing pain as the sunlight hit your eyes. You swear the top of your eyeballs were going to burst.
Those were the first things you felt as you opened your eyes. Instinctively, you shut your eyes and take a few deep breaths. And in that moment, you try to make sense of what’s happening.
“What the fuck?” was one big booming thought.
Nothing seemed to make sense though. You can’t seem to remember what day it is although you’re pretty fucking sure it’s daytime. You think about where you are - nope.
“What was I doing?”
“Where was I going?”
“Ah heck, where the fuck am I even?”
You slowly open your eyes letting them acclimatise to the light and start to look around you to gain some semblance of what’s happening.
You find yourself in a room. It isn’t a particularly large room but it’s large enough to have walking space. It vaguely reminds you of the room you lived in while in college.
There’s a closed sliding window on the wall to your right. You notice there’s a fire extinguisher and an axe on the corner of that room. There’s a door towards the foot of the bed you’re on. The door looks pretty solidly built but you remind yourself that looks can be pretty deceiving. Instead you take notice of the locks. It seems to have 2 locks - each with a different mechanism. While one seems to require a key, the other seems to just be a round device installed into the door.
On your left there’s a bookcase and a table with a powered down computer. There’s a mess of stuff on the table that probably warrants more inspection. The book case itself has quite a selection of books ranging from philosophy, engineering, math. There’s a row with what seems like a full set of books by a certain Joe Dever. Whoever owns this must be quite the fan of that author.
With the bed headboard against the wall behind you, you have to crane your neck upwards to see what’s there and when you do, there’s nothing much except for an old poster of a barebodied Justin Bieber with a huge thumbs down drawn with a red marker.
Taking all of that in, and still hazy about your own life, you still have that one question that’s keeping you very anxious,
Where am I?

Option 1 : You may not know where you are, but you definitely want to get out of the room. Open the door and exit. Use the axe to break it down if you have to.
Option 2 : Look out the window. Maybe that’ll give you a better idea of where you are.
Option 3 : There’s a computer. Check out what’s on it.
Option 4 : Look through the books and the pile of stuff on the table. Perhaps you’ll find something…
