I am curious about the following sentence.
Her thoughts faded, abandoning her for silence.
What was she thinking about before she experienced a convulsion?

It seems that while she was in the bath, she didn't think of much.
What you probably meant was that she lost consciousness or was about to lose it. Thus the phrase should have been

Her consciousness faded, abandoning her for silence.

No?
