My name is Vizmo, what is your answer my Mage friend? For your sweet little friend here? You have a home that travels do you not? She could be safe there when your travels become dangerous. My offer still stands.

"We will renegotiate once a century," decided Wraithvine. "If we are going to see what happens. And she will have normal kittens, should she ever have kittens. I am responsible for enough changes in the wider world. I don't wish to be responsible for an entire race of intelligent cats."
"Agreed," said Vizmo. "And you shall need to add this to your spellbooks."
It was an astonishingly small scroll, and it contained a single rune, with instructions on how to inscribe it properly. How to imbue it into a dimensionally transcendent portable Wizard's tower. Which Wraithvine co-incidentally owned. Ze carried the door to it in hir hat[1]. Properly installed, the use of the rune would allow instant transportation from reality to the interior of the tower. All with no ill effects to the teleported being.
"This is a new rune," said Wraithvine. "They don't often become necessary. Or just become." Wraithvine had been there when runic magic had been discovered. Ze had the dubious honour of creating a decent number of necessary runes. Ze could tell the difference between creation and -well- birth.
Vismo smirked in the way that only a feline could. "Just so you know... I do appreciate your work. So I gift you with some of mine."
"All so I'm never alone?"
"Yes. The deathless often war with loneliness as the centuries pass."
"I thank you for your gift and the blessing," said Wraithvine. "Will you find us again in a hundred years?"
"Certainly," said Vismo. "Like you, I only wish to do good."
[1] Technically on. It's sewed into place as one of the brim decorations when not in use.

That sounds so sweet. Wraithvine never being truly alone because he has Lilbit at his side. Even if he has to, sometimes, hide her away in his cottage. And I can see him doing so any time he thinks he's going to go into an area that's dangerous, rather than having her walk with him.
