ANGEL Episode 3

Detective Sam was not looking forward to his duty this morning. In his 15 years of duty, he had told loved ones about the death of their spouses countless times but he had never gotten used to it. This was the most difficult part of the job for him. He preferred to be in the field dodging bullets than being the bearer of bad news. This case had the same MO as the 'angel of death'. His only failure in 15years of service. The angel of death was always three steps ahead of them and had managed to elude him at every turn. After two years of silence, during which he hoped that angel had died or retired, the angel or a copycat had struck again.
He pressed the buzzer and Mrs Chike opened the door some minutes later wearing a track suit. 'Are you Mrs Chike?' he asked. 'Yes. Any problem? ' 'I'm detective Sam with the Tipo police department '. 'Alright, come in and have a seat. Am I under arrest? ' she asked. 'No. I do have some bad news concerning your husband though. Your husband was murdered this morning. His body was found after the rain subsided by passersby who called the police '. On hearing this, Mrs Chike fainted and detective Sam swore continuously as he finally managed to revive and steady her. 'I should have just gotten a normal job instead of joining the police ' he thought as he left the Chikes' residence. The case was going to be a hard nut to crack just like the other angel of death cases. He entered his car and sped off to the police station.
Angel watched discreetly from the shadows as Detective Sam entered his car. 'I hope I don't have to kill him with his retirement so close by . Well, just as other times, he won't make progress . I'll have to kill him if he gets lucky though. 'He dies if he gets lucky ' , Angel smiled inwardly at the irony of the situation. ............
