Yeah, the bandwidth issue is tricky for new people... basically upvotes get you into new reputation levels, and new reputation levels get you into bigger bandwidth allowances. The other way to combat it is to have someone delegate Steem Power to you. If you check out the posts by the good old @thefreshfive, you'll see a Steem Power Delegation competition. Not many people have entered yet, so I think if you spent a few minutes on it you could easily take it home and solve this whole bandwidth thing.
