I'm impressed aliens learned 55 languages from greetings alone! But it is ok I guess, they are advanced enough.
Or I'm just wrong, but I remember they had greetings on different languages on the disc... might be wrong though, maybe I should check before I comment

@apsu : it is not far fetched, when it comes to system everything is a derivative of machine language binary codes. And with enough resources and time anybody can come up with number of language. Take our computers for example which has evolved from binary to complex voice commands and even gestures. I am saying our alien friend might have gotten the root code or primary code.
