RE: From Lake Michigan to My Belly! Bring on That Slammin' Salmon!!! ~ #fff

in #fff5 years ago

I think it’s safe to say my this is my favorite contender of your yet

Wowza! I liked this one tbh, but with that compliment, along with all the other love I'm reading right now, you just may be right.

You also have one up on me. I am a MN Vikings fan, the packers are our enemy. I have yet to see a game at Lambeau, and you apparently saw them play the Chargers. And although the fish was caught on Lake Michigan, I reside in sunny/rainy/cloudy/snowy Minne-snowta. But your point remains valid about the kiddie pool regardless ;)

I will have a great weekend. You too!

Dude, I just had the longest F’ing response right here and somehow lost the whole thing!! It really tempts me to drop a handful of real F words. Alright, here goes, ima try to repeat it—danget! That really pisses me off.

Minnesnowda?! Eh, are you into hip hop? You know Atmosphere—Slug and Ant? I’ll wait for a response before I get too detailed. Prince is and always has been my favorite artist.

(can’t believe I have to try to reiterate all of this again)

About the Packers. I’m actually a Broncos fan at heart though i haven’t watched a football game for a couple of years. My buddy, who’s now 72, he’s the packers fan—die hard fan! Ok, I guess it’s probably been 3 or 4 years now, he buried his dad when he was like 96 or something—lived a long life. We were hanging out after his dad’s memorial and he something to the extent of “before I die, I hope a Packer game.” Well, right then and there I promised him I’d take us to a Packer game that season but it was early in the year, the schedules hadn’t been released yet. Fast forward a couple of months...

Schedules are released and guess what? NFC North is playing the AFC West and, although we didn’t know who’s playing where, we knew there was a chance the Broncos would play in Green Bay. What are the chances of that, right? Something that only happens once every like 10-15 years. Fast forward another month or so...

Well, Denver hosted the pack that year so that wasn’t an option which, by the way, was Aaron Rogers worst game of his career—I think he threw 6 picks and Denver scored something crazy like 55 points and the Pack only scored two field goals—it was a slaughter. But, the Packers hosted the Chargers, another West team, so I knew I could go to that game and be just as much of a Packer fan that day as everyone else. It was settled, we got tickets, plane rides, etc. Fast forward to game weekend...

Man, we had a great time. The Pack ended up squeaking a win in the final seconds, Denver beat the chefs that day, my buddy got to see his team live, it was a great weekend. And you know what? It’s always the unexpected that sticks out. I’ve been to several stadiums man, Lambeau is the only one I’ve ever stepped onto the field—crazy right?! We were driving to our hotel room after the plane landed, it was late, too, 11’ish PM—nothing but dark night, corn fields, and farms and all of a sudden, around a turn is this massive stadium all lit up. “Lambeau Field.” Well, we pulled off so my buddy could take a look and, we just kept driving, eventually we were at the front gates without security or anything. A few people here and there but everything was wide open. So, we walked and walked and kept walking. Eventually we made it to the field and walked right across the 50 yard line. It was quite an experience.

And, you know something else? Between San Diego and Tampa Bay, it doesn’t matter what stadium, parking can be expensive. Doesn’t matter if you’re 2 miles away in someone’s front yard, you’re still gonna pay like 10-20 bucks to park. Shoot man, San Francisco, you’re talking minimum $50 on a public city street a mile away, actual stadium parking can reach the hundreds. Not Lambeau—nope! Free parking, I couldn’t believe it.

Like I said, I’m reiterating what I already wrote once. What I said at the last ending was something along the lines of.... I bet you didn’t plan on receiving an article sized response to this one did you? I’m thinking if I get into another story like this, I’ll just address a post to you, like a “post letter” or something and at least build a little reputation from it. 😉

I better click reply before I lose another one—I’m still pretty pissed about that.

Dude, that sucks, I've had that happen on a post before and it was even longer than your reply here, haha. What UI do you tend to use?

I know of Atmosphere and the artists you mentioned, but that's not really my scene. Prince is an icon here for sure. But for some reason I never had the love affair so many others seem to have. I don't mind his music, I like a few of his songs, but then again, I've never been a big fan boy of any big celebrity/star. But I am sad he died. I am sad when anyone with any talent passes 'early'. But tis life.

You and my buddy "Denver Dan" (coincidence on the Dan name? I think not!) would get along smashingly. He is a transplant from Montrose, CO, and is a huge Broncos fan...thus, "Denver Dan". I much prefer the Broncos over the Pack, so I am happy to cheer for them as long as they're not playing the Vikes.

I've never been on the field anywhere, except the old Metrodome, where the Vikes used to play. I can't imagine stepping onto Lambeau field, that had to be something you'll never forget. The fact that you did it with a buddy, while checking off a promise made to him, much make it all that sweeter. That's really f'in cool that y'all followed through and made it happen. So much of what we say and plans we make, tend to never happen.

You wanna talk about parking prices??? Don't get me started. Seriously. I don't want to have a coronary this morning, so I'll just quit where I'm at.

Glad this reply hasn't deleted on me yet :) l like your 'post letter' idea. Maybe we should start that!

I'm sure your anger/pissed off-ness has subsided by now, but if not, just woo-sah brother. Woo-sah.

“Woo-sah.”

UI. I’m on steempeak most of the time, partiko works out well, too. Steemit never had issues deleting what I’ve typed if I go from one page to the next. I don’t know how or why and I really wish I could predict when it’s going to happen but it seems like I’ve been on steempeak each of the 3-4 times it’s happened. I really need to figure that loop hole out.
