Can you explain how it is coming back? Do you have multiple accounts? Once I close it, it is gone, but I would like to understand what you are experiencing.

I only have one account. I think Ocrdu has it right, I have my browser set for privacy which means it doesn't remember history and probably gets rid of the cookies regularly. I get the featured posts back just about every time I close the window and reopen/log back into steemit.
Okay, thank you for the feedback. Mine is set for moderate, so that is likely the difference.
I have the same. Probably has to do with the browser used and how aggressively it purges cookies and settings after closing. I get the featured posts back after every log in.
Also, the featured posts ignore my mute list.
What browser are you using? I will try to recreate it so I can provide feedback as that does sound very annoying. :)
Meh. Not all that big a deal. I do wish my mute list would work on the featured posts, though.
But if you're interested: I use Firefox in private browsing mode with all the privacy settings, bells, and whistles switched on, all cookies etc. purged on exit, and all that. I don't see any advertisements, but I don't miss those.
Sounds like 'private browsing mode' is to blame. No cookies are accepted, and I assume Steemit is using cookies to remember when users have clicked the 'x' to stop seeing an advertisement. Because you're being ultra paranoid with your settings, you have to either try to ignore the ads, or keep clicking the x.
I wouldn't say it is ultra paranoid, I'd imagine its a pretty common setting. My settings don't interfere with any of the sites I regularly visit.
I think the better solution would be to stop forcing posts like Snax into my feed when I didn't ask for it and don't care about it at all.
Okay. Your actions aren't paranoid, and you're not sensitive about that. Got it!
Cool. well it does seem likely those would be common security settings in crypto.
Not that anyone cares, but I like to consider who is using the site and what they are likely to experience. :) lol.
I use firefox as well pretty much set up the same way
When I say "Meh. Not all that big a deal" I do of course mean: "This is terrible, stupid, and offending, and it shows the incompetence and arrogance of the developers. It greatly sucks, and I will rage quit soon."
Can I finally have a drama token now?
!dramatoken
You bet! :) And it's a pleasure to give you one!
Not quite sure how to interpret that, but thanks!
