RE: Baby Barred Owl and more for Feathered Friday

Thanks very much! The barred owls have lived in the park for years and whenever I go there I just have to look for one of the women I call the "owl ladies". There are a couple of them always there, and they are quite expert and knowledgable. When the see me coming they just point out whichever trees the owls are in... there's the mom, there are the two female chicks, over here is the male... Honestly, without them I would never get a single shot!

Cool! Then you had to stick around this time till they did all these narratable stuff? 🌚

So to be 100% honest, the one shot of the mother owl tearing the crow apart was taken the previous day... it just made the story too long to explain all that. Come to think of it, that one shot was also made with my small camera - Olympus em-5 mkii.

The other shots including the heron and the pigeon were captured on the same day and I have dozens and dozens more. The owls don't move around a lot during the day, so if I get a clean line of sight I can basically shoot until the card fills up, or the big lens breaks my shoulder!

Here is the mom with the two baby girls. (So say the owl ladies... I have no idea how they can identify the sex of the birds.)

OK I get it. Cool stuff😁. Careful with the shoulders now😁. Don't sell the DSLR gear too😉
