KNOW THE HISTORY OF THE DEVIL'S BIBLE

Throughout the centuries history has always been full of records that prove the fear that the human being has of the so-called "supernatural". There are cults and ceremonies in all parts of the world to praise and thank the blessings given by the Supreme Being, who receives varied names, but which in the end ends up being one.

However, it is not only the well-feared part of this story. For the sake of no, many traditions include in their celebrations references and even the cult of Evil, so that it is known by the people and so that, in being remembered, there is no vile way about the community.

One of the most curious stories about this belief is the so-called "heir of darkness" that deals with the creation of the Bible of the Devil. It is said that the book dates from the 13th century and was made in the region where today it is the Czech Republic. In fact, the most shocking part about this legend (you can not tell if it was true or not in front of the frivolous facts that you will know already, already) is that such a bible was made by a monk!

As it is told, in spite of dedicating himself to the Church, the author of such a book would have committed an unpardonable crime and, therefore, was sentenced to death by his superiors. His punishment would simply be to be walled alive in a monastery room.

However, in order to escape death, the man thought quickly and asked the authorities of the place to give him a chance to redeem himself: if one night he had not copied an entire binder of the Holy Bible and other books by hand, they could , the next day, perform his punishment.

How such a feat would even be humanly impossible - considering that there were no technologies available at the time and that everything was done with ink, feathers, parchments and candlelight - the superiors came up with the proposal. It turns out, however, that the offending monk had devised a plan that no one suspected: he made a pact with the devil, and in exchange for the book ready in the morning, the devil took the soul of the man and the promise that in the Bible including a huge and scary picture of his figure.

In the end, the priest was forgiven and the volume became known as "Codex Gigas" - "Giant Book" - or The Devil's Bible. It is considered the largest medieval manuscript that has news and is 90 centimeters high, over 50 centimeters wide, 20 centimeters thick and weighs more than 75 pounds. In addition, its pages are made of calf leather and donkey, where are inscribed the New and Old Testaments, as well as a calendar, medical texts and an old encyclopedia, as well as the mysterious portrait of the capeta.

But about this story, not only does the making of the book leave people "with the flea behind their ears". The fact that many of his pages have been ripped out intrigues a lot. Added to this, there is still evidence that, over its several centuries, the Codex Gigas changed hands several times and even survived - with some irreparable damage - to a fire.

To further increase the "drama" about the grimy bible, scholars also guarantee that all work - at least apparently - was actually done by one man, but they believe it took at least 20 years to complete. There is even a small dedication in the codex that says "Hermanus Inclusus" or "Herman, the recluse". For researchers, this may be a clue to the monk who wrote it and its punishment for permanent seclusion, rather than being walled, as they tell.
