Such is the random nature of Hive sometimes the other day I was checking my replies and I came across what was literally the best comment I have received since I joined Hive. It was original, unexpected and very funny. That's the sort of thing that really makes me feel good for a moment. I applaud anyone who has the ability to do that to anyone.
I obviously replied sharing my joy with the commenter and crowning him with the best comment received so far. I will share that comment with you in just a moment because it needs a huge build up! Anyway it got me thinking how many of us truly appreciate the comments we receive on our posts or Snaps? I thought to myself wouldn't it be great if every now and then we shared our favourite comments and put a well deserved spotlight on them.
It would be great to give these people more attention, who with the cleverness of their words made you smile even if it was just for a short while. Why not raise their profile a little? Who knows it might even get them extra votes and a bigger reward. It would be a completely altruistic thing to do just to show them your appreciation for their valuable engagement with you.
So in a bid to take the initiative I am proposing Favourite Comment Friday where all of us just take time out to publish a short post on the best and most meaningful comment you have received on a post or Snap all week and you publish the post every Friday. If you haven't received one you consider epic then you don't need to post, simple.
I am not expecting a huge take up here but if some of you do it that would send some nice karma out there into the universe and show true appreciation for someone who perhaps made you feel good for a moment with their comment. This is all about the appreciation and trying to foster more engagement, it's not quite up there with the new Commentrewarder service by @acidyo and @hivetrending but I hope this does something good.
If you do publish a post for this initiative please use the tag #favouritecommentfriday as the lead tag. I am relatively new to Hive and I'm sorry but I have very little to offer you by way of vote rewards, but will still vote and I will certainly comment on all posts.
But please remember the most important part of this idea is to shine a spotlight on some comments that have been constructive and meaningful to you in some way, the thrust of this concept is to show appreciation and have some fun with it too. And as I say you might just get the author of your favourite comment some extra votes.
So for me and the best comment I received all week here goes. This was the original Snap that @zekepickleman posted tagging @themarkymark and @peakd.

I like your initiative and enthusiasm here; Hive can use more of that! Might consider having #favouritecommentfriday #fcf and #favoritecommentfriday (for those of us on the other side of the big pond) all count.

It would be nice to see if others might adopt the initiative but not having too much engagement so far. But I really appreciate your support, thanks for that.

This is looking like a great initiative, I also suggest the best commenter be set as a beneficiary too to the post, as an appreciation since the post revolves around the person.
