RE: On Becoming A Father

in #father7 years ago

Congrats to you sir! I am in the same boat as you, except sooner. My wife is due with our first child May 9th, but she could really pop at any time. It's definitely a nervous but exciting time. A lot of mixed emotions (mostly happy of course,) but a whole new journey. I was fortunate enough to have my father through my whole life, and still do. He was always there for me and was that good role model I needed. The same goes for my wife's father. Although I haven't been a father yet, I have two amazing men to continue looking up to and follow in their footsteps.

The biggest step is caring and wanting to be a good father. From your post, you are certainly headed in the right direction and I am sure will be just fine!

Our worlds are about to get turned upside down, but I know we will both make the most of it and wouldn't want it any other way.

@cryptoctopus - I actually decided to write a poem about waiting for the baby to come in this last month or so. After reading your post, I figured I would dedicate it to you. Hopefully you'll enjoy it and can relate to some of the feelings I have.
