The best cheap watch you can get

In the last two years or so, i have been the happy owner of a Seiko SKX007k1. This is the cheapest version of the watch. The movement in the K1 and K2 models is produced in Malaysia/Singapore, while the J1 and J2 models are produced in Japan. The main difference can be summarized to a better quality in the J-models due to higher standards in the Japanese factories. The difference between the 1- models and the 2-models is whether the watch comes on a jubilee bracelet or a rubber strap. Some of the other main specifications is listed below.

In the days after i received my watch, it was clear to me that everything that i had read about it beforehand was true. The Seiko SKX007 is true value for money! Besides that the watch can be heavily modified with new strap, bezel, dial, hands etc. This is a huge bonus cause you can almost get a new watch by changing a few things. Personally i have changed the rubber strap to a Brown Hirsh leather strap. This really suits the watch and transforms it into a casual everyday watch rather than a diver's watch. The combination of the relatively low price and the modding-possibilities makes this Seiko watch a great start or addition to any watch collection. I might even want to call it a must-have!

The Seiko SKX007 has a screw-down crown and back plate, like any good diver's watch. This helps improve water resistance. The day/date function works perfectly as well, but it takes about 3 hours to change fully. This can be a bit annoying if you are using the watch around midnight.
I have used my SKX007 a lot and never have i ever had any problems with it. Despite it being an entry-level automatic divers watch, it is just a full blooded work horse. I have had my watch with me while canoeing i France and trekking through dusty fields. This Seiko diver has a great size and is comfortable to wear and we recommend this to anyone looking for their first dive watch or just a great watch to wear everyday at work.
