RE: How can fashion industries make your child in class more acceptable? Or even socially successful.

in #fashion7 years ago

As soon as a child can dress themselves or their Barbie dolls they are going to identify with clothing and start choosing what they want to wear. Branding is inevitable because of the commercialization in our face. The more individualism that we can encourage without labeling and putting people into categories the better. Why can’t a blonde wear something ethnic from Africa or vice versa? Labeling and putting people into categories and keeping them in ther prescribed boxes is the problem. Let them choose their brands and styles. Fashion companies should offer choices and not tell me that because I am blonde or brown that this label or that label is what I should wear. I would just like to see more freedom and take a step back. I remember the movie Pretty in Pink and remember Molly’s character creating her dresses and the freedom and she had to be her own person. I hope that spirit is still alive. If the fashion industry is smart they will help this generation be themselves.
