Another side of the puzzel to look at is that while technology might reduce the workload of farmers in the short term, over time more and more farmers will use technology to reduce their workload. Because of the way 'suply and demand' works...farmers will be able to produce more and more crops. This increased supply of crops will translate into lower wages for the farmers. After some time farmers will understand that the technology that they are using to grow bigger and better crops is a scam. Sure the crops look bigger and better but the nutritional quality has been eaten away. I am not saying that all technology is harmful to a farmer, but a good rule of thumb is to stay away from 'technology' that comes from a chemical process. People will understand that locally grown produce that is raised on a sustainable farm is a good choice!
