Hello Hiver! I'm back at our farm, and for this day, I'm going to transplant these seedlings that I ordered three days ago. The seedlings are eggplant and green chillies that will be a replacement for red chillies that were planted previously on the same plot of land.
We've got the first heavy rain for this month of May, and that is always a sign that the rainy season is coming. So for me, this is a good time for planting.
Well, our main crop is rice, and the best sign to start rice farming is a change in wind direction, which is from south to west. This is an indication that monsoon rain will always come, which is the main factor needed by rice: water.
Back on the farm, I wake up early to start the work because the heat is unbearable, starting at 11 a.m. and lasting until 3 p.m. Usually, I stop working at these times, but when it becomes cloudy, I'm going to finish this work because I can do it without stopping.
The land was already prepared yesterday. I started the water pump first to flood the field and carry each tray of seedlings one by one into their respective plot.
That's all for this blog, and I'm going to need to start working now.
Lastly, here is a famous Filipino proverb:
"Kapag may itinanim, may aanihin."
Literally mean:
When something is planted, you will reap.
Next blog soon :) .
Finally, it rained at your place. I hope ours will experience the rain too.
Saglit lang yan ilang buwan lang harvest na ulit.
I think rainy season will be early this year.
Yang talong at sili, 90 days lang yan. Mka harvest na.
Yown oh! Solb na solb na yan pag nagkataon.
