This is a really good attitude to writing in public. Like you, I'm really enjoying the feeling of getting some writing out in public view and getting some appreciative comments and building an audience. Steemit has been really liberating.
My advice would be to carry on writing the fiction parts of your world, rather than the background material, because that's where you really hone your craft (and, as you found out, it's only when you start writing that plot problems and decisions start having to be made.) I'll check out your series - good luck with the writing.
Thanks @sunjata I did just dive right in into this but I am still really nervous about taking a misstep somewhere if I rush into writing the main story I have been considering writing the resource parts creatively as though from the perspective of people actually at the events to help make them interesting and emotive.
This way I get the background information out there but it's still entertaining in the long run for the reader and may help everyone involved understand the world, people and cultures in this world.
