Human trafficking is a canker worm, eating into the heart of Edo State. Her people, most especially the young girls are
being sold like cheap goods to whomever is willing to buy. They are led like animals to the slaughter, without a care for
their welfare or future. These young people, some as little as 12 years are brainwashed into thinking that there is a pile
of money waiting for them outside the shores of their country, outside the safety of their homes. And without prope
guidance or supervision, are sent away in ships to other parts of the world to be used for hard labour and prostitution.

some trafficked kids being reunited with their parents
It is so appalling to note that even in such an age of civilization, and an era of technology, barbaric practices such as
slavery, are still being practiced.
Children are sold like common animals, like pieces of meat in the market. This is unacceptable in every way!
This platform I believe is one family and I believe that if steemians should rise up with one voice, and show support
towards eradicating such misconduct, it would indeed be a great contribution, to the people of Nigeria and to the
world at large.
As for Edo State in particular, the trafficking is being carried out by a powerful cartel which has connections both at
home and abroad. This cartel has been and is still engaged in a battle with the Edo State Government. Steemit as of
now, is reaching far and wide to several countries and continents, in different walks of life, we have people in
governments, schools, immigration, Let us use this platform and this opportunity to empower and sensitize people
against this issue and hopefully, either large or small scale, we will make our own case against such evil practices.

Say NO to human trafficking!
It is true ,I heard an encounter with one of them and it was horrific. They really suffered. Thanks for this enlightenment to the world.
Truly. this thing has to stop, its really unfair. Thank you for your contribution @cjofficial
its really sad though
but when you also reside in country where your leaders dont care about the masses, there is always that tendency to want to search for greener pastures elsewhere and this is in turn could lead human trafficking
the problem has to be tackled from the root
Very well said! The Nigerian Government is also a very big part of this problem, I believe with everything that is going on now, they are more inclined to address this situation as it is ridiculing the name of the country.
This is heartbreaking, no human being deserves to go through this. It really is a sad reality that human trafficking still is in practice all over the world especially in third world countries.
something needs to be done urgently to curb the menace. Everything has a day to start and to end
