You are so right @canadian-coconut and your explanation as to why they only took the 2 youngest kids does sound plausible, what I don't understand is how Social Services get away with it. My cousin and her husband love the girls but also feel guilty that they may have adopted two kids who were taken from their mother without merit, the eldest child remembers her birth mother and is a teenager now, her memories may disrupt her teenage years and cause her to resent my cousin and her husband, it's hard enough being a teenager as it is.
