To be a man or a woman is a matter of chance but to act mature is a matter of choice.
There are some things you need to put aside, maturity is a personal responsibility, nothing can change on is own.
Perfect marriage or relationship is not between two perfect people, but two mature people. There is a saying that goes "Am looking for mr/mrs right"
There is no Mr and Mrs right anyway, just put the one on the left to the right and that's all.
"Ageing is growing old but maturity is growing up"
Maturity is the ability to control yourself, to control your anger, and your ability to balance the issue of your life.
Apostle Paul said "When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish thing"
1 Corinthians 13:11
Some play all there life and some work all there life. "All Work and no play makes Jonny a dull boy" you must be able to balance both.
Maturity is the ability to say no (there is nothing wrong in saying no) some people can not refuse people so they always use them.
Let us consider different types of maturity in no particular order
Physical maturity - therefore a man will leave his father and mothers house " not a boy" the bible did not say a boy. Marriage is for two mature people, is not for babies. Are you ready to take responsibilities of your actions, whether wrong or right. Most times when things go wrong, we run back to our parents for help. As the saying goes "Mummy's boy or Mummy's girl".
Teenage life is the time to discover your talent and vision, is not a time for relationship or marriage.
Financial Maturity - if you lack the ability to earn money then you are not ready for marriage. Relationship cost money, time, emotion and responsibility, if you don't have all this to give don't marry. Love is not a feeling, but a choice.
Mental Maturity - developing yourself i.e spend time to read books that will edify you and listening to people wiser than you, move around with friends that can inspire you mentally, go for information and knowledge.
Social Maturity - learn to use polite words like, thank you, please, sorry, greetings, be polite excuse me, use this words at all time. Do things romantically, learn to say I love you, use pet names, buy him things, buy her things, take her places, i mean romantic places.
Spiritual Maturity - spiritual does not mean church activities or church worker, grow spiritually, marriage is a spiritual matter because it comes from God not man. Make use of God's word correctly.
Emotional Maturity - be patient, don't be in a depressed mood at all times, carry yourself don't underestimate yourself, don't fall for every man or woman that comes your way, you can not love somebody you don't know.
Maturity does not make you any less valuable as a person; however, it just means that you need to grow and experience life more before stepping into the adulthood role of husband or wife.
In conclusion The Bible tells us, "By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established" (Prov. 24:3). In other words, God wants you to be wise and understand how to build our marriage and family.
