I decided to put up this life story to find a way to help this family live a decent life.
Just as year 2017 was about to end, a friend of mine received the shock of his life.
He lived in a rented apartment and had been there for more than 3years. There has been occasions that called for sober reflection, moments when it appear as if he should call it quit with the world but he kept hope alive. He continued to keep his family of four children together.
This accommodation was not so comfortable but the situation this friend of mine found himself did not allow for choices.
In Nigeria, the property owner is referred to as "the landlord". The relationship between Tenants and landlord in most cases is not always cordial especially where you have the landlord residing with tenants within the same compound. This was the case with my friend.
It happened that the water pump got spoilt and its repaired. The arrangement was for the amount spent to repair the pump to be shared, there is nothing wrong with this arrangement because this had always been the case.
On this faithful day, my very good friend promised to pay up his portion as soon as he was able but this promise did not please the house owner.
It was reported that the landlord got furious and said what ought not to be said by comparing this tenant and his family to chicken.
He said " if we had used the apartment to raise chicken, it could have yielded better profit that these people occupying it.
This tenant got frustrated because there was no hope of raising the money requested for by his landlord but in this midst of this great confusion, God decided to come to his aid by reminding him of his abandoned property. There and then he decided to move in to this property of his even though not completed.
Within seven days, the place was adjusted at least to house his family. Behold the house.
I decided to know the feeling of the children to their new environment, hear what they say.
The environment is quiet, the neighbours are friendly and loving, there fresh vegetables to buy.
"We were able to see farmers working in their farms and observed how some these plants are being planted. Such yams, maize, vegetables, things are relatively cheap. The only thing that is greatly missed is electricity".
It is this last point that prompted me to write on this family's experience with the determination to assist them secure means to generate power and light up their environment so the children would be able to read and attend to school home work.
The statement of someone pushed this family to take a positive step. May you also be provoked to be able to take that step that will bring progress to your dreams.
This is a classic case of times when life throws hard punches that opens up our mind to opportunities we never knew exist.
Great lessons from this and I hope your help on the electricity comes in real quick, especially to aid reading.
I appreciate your comment. Thanks
You are welcome.
I am always looking forward to your insights about life issues here. Thank you for sharing.
