Soaring with Eagles instead of following the Masses

Here we are.. the start of another ‘silly season’. Oh and before I forget in my own cooking madness… Happy Thanksgiving! No, it does not matter where in the world you live this time starts the silly season for most. We rush through things and holidays never stopping to enjoy something simple.

For probably only one of a handful of times, Thanksgiving finds just me and my husband together; no invitation from his family, mine has one open invitation but I do not need more drama in my life. I get enough from so many almost daily that one or two days of less drama is welcomed with open arms.

I woke up this morning and realized that I’d have neither son here with us, no grandsons or daughter-in-law and at first it really bummed me out. Then I remembered something that happened yesterday and realized my sons have grown into competent independent men that may need me once in a great while but they are exactly what my husband and raised them to be; Independent and self-sufficient.

So what happened yesterday? I had a few things left to pick up from the grocery store and when I walked out soaring above the parking lot of the local Piggly Wiggly was a bald headed eagle. Yes, there it was in all its glory soaring the thermals in the air. I stood there looking up and made a comment that I wish my son could see this because when hubby and I saw it the first time while up in the garden getting the last of the produce by the time my youngest son got home it had soared to a different location and he claimed we both were a bit nutty in the noggin or just really sadly mistaken.

No, we were not that day and yesterday I got to share that gift with strangers. As I looked up I said ‘There he is, what a beautiful sight!’ Now whether it was a he or she I really could not say but the gentleman in front of me carrying his bag of goodies looked up and said it’s an eagle.. others looked at us looking up and yes.. they too proclaimed it was indeed an Bald Eagle.

Now to some of you that may sound rather odd or just too ordinary to make any comment about but where I live you don’t see them soaring in the skies. Normally I’d have to head about 3 hours west or 3-4 hours north to see them but here was one that I have now personally witnessed and had others witness it to say yes.. Not only are the bald eagles making a comeback but we have a nesting pair of peregrine falcons that compete with the Coopers hawks and the red tailed hawks.. It was a gift to be treasured but more than that it has been the symbol of independence for those in the united States as well as strength.

Just like my adult sons the symbol of independence was soaring above my head and I missed the connection until today. How could I have missed that sign that things are changing and not for the worse but for the better? That is easy; I have been too wrapped up in other things to notice. We all get that way from time to time and others seem to live their lives that way. Too busy to stop and notice time as not just passed but flown by and here we are working, waiting, serving, and trying to survive yet another day.

At Compumatrix we have been ‘waiting to see the eagle land’ for a while now so seeing a real one soaring high above had yet another meaning and reminder. We have worked for quite a while to see the unveiling of what our company has become. Why did I just say ‘Our’ instead of just our founder’s name? It is because all of us that believed in the vision, that bought stock, that have stuck it out are part of that ‘we’. Many issues have arisen in the cryptocurrency arena over the past few years and have caused this company, OUR Company to have to adjust to sometimes overwhelming changes. Are we ‘there yet’? Well I can tell you staff IS Beta Testing in increments so yes, we ARE there, but testing must be finished first before the long standing, sometimes impatient and mostly supportive members can kick the tires and take a test drive themselves. All that is asked is that in each area you proceed with caution, follow instructions to a “T” and if unsure, ASK.

Just like realizing my boys have become men and I am their Mom but no longer needed like I was when they were growing up. The same can be said about what I do in and with Compumatrix. As our members grow into their own, more confident and less dependent on others to help them with their business those that have been here for many years leading the pack will be stepping back to allow each of you to run your business but watchful that you do not affect another’s by actions in various areas. This can also be said of the freedoms we enjoy and celebrate in so many lands across the world. We are only free when we do not infringe upon the rights of others to be free.

Freedom to worship as they please is what we have been taught about why people came to America from little on and reaching for the American dream was part of the reason my Dad’s family immigrated when he was 8 years old. We all have a dream and you are never too old to reach for that dream. Today in the US we celebrate Thanksgiving. Each of us have many things to be truly thankful, blessings we've received along the way, people that cross our paths at just the right time are just two.

No matter where you live remember to be grateful and practice an attitude of gratitude. I could be sour today being just with hubby but I am thankful he is here with me and that my sons have grown into fine independent men. I have been with a company and hitched my wagon to something that is ahead of the curve and I woke up to many blessings. I hope you did too!
Happy Thanksgiving!
