H/w friends,we used to see the Mona Lisa painting commonly such as in scluptures,poetries ,in homes etc.But seriously why..? The painting is small i.e.,30"by 21" inches.The colour seems abit dark and the backlet is deslet and eery.And the subject is practically significant.
And so what does it practically symbolize, is it all about a silent smile__!!.Lets notice it deeply . Leonardo Da Vinci's greatest innovation here is a relaxed and inform of Three-Quatered pose of the subject. Mona Lisa's place seems to be common today bt it was revolutionary in early 16th century. Prior portraits were also stepped and confined in profiles but this pose of Mona Lisa established a new style of portrait painting i.e.,still standard today over 500 years later.You may notice the wide base of the painting which appears heavier than the top,it was Da Vinci's innovation.Mona Lisa's hands form the front corner of a pyramid.The eyes of Mona Lisa depicts infiness with an ignatic smile.
The area around her eyes as well as her hairs has a semi trange lotioned ,smooky feeled that gives the painting a sense of motion.This technique is also used in its background to create a sense of Harmony between the sitter and the landscape.The landscape to the left of Mona Lisa is small in comparison to the right.Leonardo Da Vinci had to remove the eyebrows later in order to maintain the skintone.Mona Lisa's delicate and beautiful hands contributes a lot in bringing blossom in the painting.
Leonardo Da Vinci used to travel with the painting in order to show off his talents.Scientists cannot agree as to why Mona Lisa's smile is interpreted so differently by different people.From the nature of human vision, the sigment flow of smile signifying Leonardo's feeling to his mother.The mystry of the smile is what it makes the painting so engaging+fascinating.This work introduces several revolutionary painting techniques displaying the supreme mastery of technique by its artists and also continues to inspire in many who had viewed.
