It is true that the internet has boundless advantages and it has definitely made our lives easier. However, there are always two sides of a coin and the darker side of the internet can sometimes be the reason for much trouble. From cyberstalking to trolling and twitter hate to digital fraud – the dotcom world has sadly brought all sorts of nuisance along. One of the major advantages that cybercriminals have is the advantage of keeping their identity hidden. Behind fake user profiles and hidden names, people take the liberty of targeting others’ personal spaces without any hesitation of liability. With the advent of social media, much has changed.
Sadly, women are often victims of these tech-creeps. One such case from Chennai has come to light recently. A blogger named Namya Baid was harassed by an alleged conman who called her up with different identities promising jobs to women. The creep crossed all the lines after he was caught and confronted.
He fearlessly threatened Namya and wrote, “she was gone”.
The blogger took to Facebook and shared the whole incident along with screenshots of her conversation with the creep. Please go through it and beware of such criminals in future. Here are the screenshots shared by Namya.
Namya shared her ordeal in a Facebook post!
It was so very brave of her to have posted this incident on her social media account. It is time to be really aware of what’s happening around us!
