If you have gone the traditional route of advertising your business outside of the internet, you will know that there are peak times to advertise.
The radio has peak times of drive time during traffic and these time slots are more expensive. Television advertising also has peak times to advertise. This includes prime time and special events like the Super Bowl. The winter time generally has more expensive rates than the summer time because people are more likely to be sitting in front of their television when it is cold outside.
The internet is no different. There are peak times to get your message out when more viewers have the chance of seeing your post. Facebook and Twitter are still the most influential to post during peak times, but Pinterest is sneaking up as a close competitor.
Here are the best times to share on Facebook:
Post sent between 6:00 – 8:00 am Eastern time and 1:00 through 4:00 in the afternoon Easter time is the fertile time for posts. Anything posted between 11:00 – 4:00 pm being the best in this time to garner the most click through rates. Additionally, 3:00 pm on Wednesday is the ultra-primo time slot of all week to have your posts seen.
Here are the worst times to share on Facebook:
As a rule, avoid posting anything to Facebook from after 4:00 pm to 4:00 am the next morning. The weekends are not the best time to post to Facebook. I would use this time to post to Twitter, Tumblr, and Pinterest instead.
Here are the best times to share on Twitter:
1:00-3:00 in the afternoon Eastern time gets your tweets noticed the most, with weekends being especially productive during this time frame. Monday and the first half of the week are the best times to tweet your message.
The weekends for Twitter are better times to tweet than to post on Facebook.
Here are some additional tweeting tips to help enhance your clicks:
~ Go for short tweets
~ ask for retweets
~ use 2-3 hashtags (#) per tweet
Here are the worst times to share on Twitter:
You should avoid tweeting after 8:00 pm Eastern time and tweeting anything after 3:00 pm Eastern time on Friday should be avoided.
More sites:

2. Google + has best and worst times as well. Best is to post between 9:00 am and 11:00 am during the weekday and avoid weekend posting for this social media site. Avoid posting anything after 6:00 pm during the week.
3. To post on LinkedIn, take advantage of the Tuesday and Thursday posting sweet spot. Typically you will want to post between 7:00 am and 8:30 am Eastern time and between 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm in the early evening. Avoid posting on Monday and Fridays to this social site.
4. If you are pinning on Pinterest, concentrate on the Saturday morning time slot to reach the most viewers!
