I found the post highly educative and I thank you for the education.

What I would like to know is can this data that facebook has at its fingertips, not be sold to governments if they are seeking information on their citizens that could lead to the arrest of criminals?

I see that mostly CCTV's are encouraged but spying by government is discouraged. I think a community deserves someone who can account for everyone who lives within Its confines. This is in utopia though.

The reality is man will abuse such power. They will use it for something nefarious because they can. Any application that takes people's data without informing them of the consequence is a thief and a liar.

It's just sad that the populace need the social media.
