RE: Tech Report: Is Silicon Valley Using Dirty Tricks to Keep You Plugged in to Social Networks?

in #facebook7 years ago

Thanks for this article, it is very informative. All social media unfortunately including Facebook and even Steemit works on the same response seeking formula. It is simply in the design I believe. I am going to share this article with a friend of mine here who studies these things and ask him to comment and I am resteeming. His name is @davidallenjones. Thanks again.

Thanks for your interest and feedback about this article. I think you are right about Facebook and Steemit being essentially the same... Perhaps Steemit is even more addictive because there is real money involved but I do believe that they are extremely different in regard to consent of information. Steemit runs on the Steem blockchain and as a result anything you say or post becomes public record forever... Facebook gives the illusion of privacy and then gets 'hacked' through their API and 'unknowingly' lets entities grab tons of private information without their users consent. So at least we know the score with Steemit. I'd also appreciate getting @davidallenjones to have a look and see what he thinks about this topic. Again, thanks for dropping by!

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Thanks for your comments about this topic. I agree with the comments about the traditional social media networks and their weaknesses.
