Facebook will not remove fake news - but will 'demote' it

Facebook says it will not cut off take steps news from its platform because it does not violate its community standards.

The social network is currently giving out an advertising disconcert in the UK that declares "con news is not our friend".

But it said publishers often had "very rotate points of view" and removing fabricated posts would be "anti the basic principles of easily reached speech".

Instead, it says posts that it deems to be performance news will be "demoted" in the news feed.
