RE: Facebook is Tightening its Censorship Policies and it's an Opportunity for Steemit - if People Even Give a Fuck Anymore

in #facebook8 years ago

"The reason being that the word "juhannus" was too close to "anus", which was deemed sexual, and therefore inappropriate for Facebook."

This doesn't even appear to be intentional censorship, just idiotic. You'd think a near half-trillion dollar company like Facebook could manage to determine the language being used in a post and only filter for "anus" in the appropriate language, but I suppose they are phoning it in over there.

"Why is it not a focus, hell not even a footnote, in Steemit hype and marketing?"

I actually wrote a post on this some time ago, one of my better ones I guess, "Mining the Babylonian Blockchain". It focused on the future historical value of Steemit's blockchain due to its un-censorable nature, within the context of a metaphor about opposing kings all claiming credit for building the Hanging Gardens.

I'll link it here to save you a search if you want to see, but feel free to flag if you want to hide this as self-promotion (payout is over):
