I think they're missing me!

I've been a loyal Facebook addict since the start of my uni days approx 13 years ago. Coupled with the popularity of smart phones, I'm ashamed to say my addiction has only worsened over the years, with updates and statuses constantly at my fingertips.
Recently however something changed. A new and exciting social media platform has turned my head....I became a Steemian!! Steemit seems to have somewhat opened my eyes to the mindless drivel that seems to swamp any sensible thoughts on my precious facebook. In turn, this has resulted in me spending much less time on the Book and more time on the Steem....and it seems they're missing me as last night the above entitled email popped into my inbox.

Not to worry Facebook, I'll always love you....just maybe not as much as I once did.

Love,
A Steemian

Hey @katem, I have Facebook also but in the 4 weeks I've been on steemit have not posted once. I have changed my display name and removed every image I have there except a generic profile and background picture. Facebook is a great time-steeler. You'll spend an hour on there and have no concept of what happened around you right? Steemit makes you think, makes you experience so you have something to share.

Facebook seems to be all about how amazing your life is, or at least that's the perception people want to post there. Look where I am, look what I'm eating, look what I got... Today I drove around the countryside and engaged with life. I came home and posted to steemit. You can see my post and images on my blog called "Winters' day wanderings"...There was zero thought put into whether I should post on Facebook. Steemit just seems to have more likeminded people. It seems...More real. For me anyway. :)

You're absolutrly right, I have spent many an hour of my life on Facebook without interacting with the real world at all. It's almost like a parallel universe where people try to create a world or life they would rather be in.
The world of Steemit seems to be much more on a level with real life.

Good old fakebook!

This year I was going to check it out once a week for 15 mins to keep up with people, but I've only looked at it twice for about 2 mins, and have no desire to ever see it again!

Back in the old days (last year) I went on fakebook about four times, and lost a bunch of "friends" posting about subjects like vaccinations...
